Blogger issues for Oak Park, IL blog

I hate Facebook and Google. I tried to post last week’s postings on Blogger via Google and got the runaround. I need a verification code to get in the account, but it came like 4 days later. Therefore, today I am going back and logging in, and rushing to put those four posts on today for the only two people who read the blogger version of this blog.

Its almost as if Google/Blogger wants to meet Facebook in being outdated. I have had a lot of issues with Google, more than I have had with WordPress. And when it comes to Facebook, its just a mess and I have not been on it for a while. The worse part about it is that WordPress no longer works in conjunction with Facebook, therefore I have no real reason to check it. Making that program/app obsolete as well. I think that when it comes down to it, I keep the Blogger account just as a back up to the WordPress account.

Over obsessive, I guess.  Therefore, that is why these posts are late, and now you can see why posting anything on a blog can be a challenge. Creativity be damned coming up with new blogs all the time is hard but when you have technical issues added to it, one’s hatred for the technical becomes apparent. And the challenges mount and become evident to everyone.

“No face pics baby?” Riigghtt

Most people ask why I don’t show my face on social media as much, have an Instagram account or do livefeeds good questions, easy explanation: people are fucking crazy. Well it goes back to when I first started the blog and I started a twitter account for it to increase the avenues to speak of my “love” for this village. However when I started to discuss Hemingway some dude just came out and attacked me, now, to be fair, I think he was selling a book of something, so the dude needed heat or some shit. I simply ignored the asshole because he gave me the creeps.

All the articles or information I had on Hemingway was preexisting and can easily be found online all I did was merely put it together in a format for people to reference or read at their hearts delight in one place. This of course was all before the #metoo movement which the dude would have thought twice about exhibiting such behavior, however it was enough for me to just do the blog on WordPress and blogger and that’s it. Extending it more means more time to this project, and add to that I am not getting paid why bother overextending myself with some dude who wants to argue about facts is just silly.

Argue about facts, facts about Hemingway that have been previously established by authors and historians, to me it just seemed a bit “crazy pants” so I left that dude alone and left the blog stuff limited to just the platforms I have previously mentioned. I definitely do not like having stalkers or nutjobs that feel the need to argue about nothing and for no reason. That is just crazy as shit, and anyone who knows me knows I am only crazy when given a reason. LOL so that is the answer to that question.

Goodbye Google Plus

Ah, so now Google Plus will go the way of the dinosaur. All the groups that I tried to market or promote this blog through will be gone. Good bye high traffic! LOL That is okay I will find a way to promote it. That is also why I have the Oak Park, IL on WordPress as well. I feel that they (WordPress) is missing the boat on having a group or news option to promote their user’s blogs but what the hell do I know?

All I know is that Google wanted to milk every dollar from me to promote the Oak Park, IL blog. I had to cancel the whole thing because I felt there was not that much bang from my buck. It seemed that Google was more or else wanting to get paid off of me venting about Oak Park, IL and that is it. Meanwhile, in comparison Word Press was and is a place that just gave me a place to do it but not much else. But I am happy in a way that Google Plus is dying because Google never tailored the apps under this umbrella to its users and therefore deserves the “death” coming in April.

That does sound bitchy but there are probably a lot of other people who feel the same way I do, while lamenting the lost of their established groups and platforms to promote their blogs. I say adios to Google Plus and hope something better comes along so I can dump the majority of these old blogs upon that site or system. There is nothing better to know that even a huge corporation like Google must admit that some of their products do not work and that they must concede to failure.

Hopefully in the long run, there will be other companies (organizations) that will pick up the slack and deliver a better product we can use for our blogs and give more than a rat’s ass which is evidently how much Google cared. Now they reap the whirlwind.

Letting it all hang out in Oak Park, IL

I am not surprised that the majority of people rather trade their privacy for convenience, online. The article (see below) does not really surprise me at all in the age of everyone can be a star or show off how narcissistic they can be for free. I mean we are all guilty of posting some type of pictures of ourselves online it just matters to what extent. I have a Facebook, WordPress and blogger/google account but I do not add tons of pictures and often the pictures are after the fact of the event in question. So yes, I have been to Kentucky however I am not stupid enough to tell everyone on Facebook at the exact time I was there, saving my place from a possible break-in.
I really think that the majority of people are sheep and have a “follow the leader” mentality and post pictures and personal details online not because they are doing something important like telling family members of an upcoming wedding or funeral. But instead something mundane because their friends have done so (in the past) so they see no problem with their posts, the “everyone is doing it” argument. But if you have had your place broken in before or are naturally paranoid you veer away from giving the details of your life online. Just because it has not happened to you does not mean it cannot.
The notion of convenience is blurred with the need for acceptance or approval, when we really just need to think clearly and post or navigate online with caution. I do not see the residents of Oak Park, Il following suit, it is just not in their DNA to do so. There is a need for showmanship, a desire to put all on display, a requirement to be “out there” in front of the entire world. We all probably driven the one of the village’s many streets and glanced right into someone’s house window and saw everything they owned in that three second glance. This I would soundly bet is one of those people who believe it is okay to surrender their identity and privacy for the convenience of either the world wide web or for living in Oak Park, IL.
And of course, it is always okay until something bad happens then individuals get wary of “sharing” their personal facts online or with wide open windows. We should all have some type of security and privacy, and we should be entitled to it than either being some perv’s whacky fantasy or a huge corporation’s data victim. Do not sacrifice privacy for convenience or drapes for that open window “look” because in the end you may regret it and once it is out there for all to see it is most likely too late.
This is the article I mentioned above:

Oak Park, Il related: Reviews on Google and Yelp

I have been updating the Google account for Oak Park, Il blog, specifically, google maps because you can review businesses and restaurants just like Yelp.com. Since I am already on yelp I am copying and pasting the reviews from Yelp to Google. This way I am consistent across the board with what I am saying about my experiences in Oak Park, Il and elsewhere. I am no nonsense with the reviews so I hope you enjoy them.

I am trying to keep all the accounts from Google/Blogger/Maps to WordPress to Yelp all on the same wavelength not being a major corporation it is very hard to keep all these social media sites plus Facebook together and on the same point. It is fairly simple once you get in a groove and keep all the outside noise out.

These are a basic simple guideline list on how I am doing the review thingee I am talking about:

  • log into both yelp and google
  • open up your account on yelp to reviews
  • open up google maps
  • copy the information from yelp (business name, address)
  • put it in google maps search
  • click onto the right business information on google
  • scroll down to write a review click it
  • just copy and paste the review from yelp to google

Sorry, it has some holes not my thing to create lists like this!

Oak Park, IL blog on Instagram? Nope

Someone asked me about Oak Park, Il blog on Instagram, so I should answer if the blog would ever be on there. Never say never but at this point it’s never. The Oak Park, IL blog is on WordPress, Blogger/Google, I have a Facebook account and a Twitter account (which I am barely on due to stalkers) since this is more about me giving the middle finger to Oak Park, IL than a business or me being obsessive. In other words, there is really no need for an Instagram account for Oak Park, IL LOL

I am not narcissistic nor do I feel I should give this village an avenue for more positive bullshit, that an Instagram account would espouse. In every publication or social media venue than Oak Park, IL has it’s all smiles and fake shit anyway, I know isn’t that what Instagram all about? But that is not what this is about at all. All I got to say is be glad there are actual amateur pictures of the shitty little village.

And if you wonder “Oh what you look like? all I see are photos that are adjusted in some way…” again I know how pervs are and also if wanted the attention I would hang with my friends and/or family, peeps. To me, the business here is about keeping it focused on Oak Park, IL the stuff that is usually not negatively associated with it. And remember Instagram is only for 24 hours! All these blogs I have written would before shit, I think the fucks in Oak Park, IL would love that! Therefore, Instagram + Oak Park, IL is a no go.

Instagram is down, yeah no thanks:

Oak Park, IL Blog wallpaper

I made a couple more wallpapers for the blog, just logo (text) wallpaper, keeping it plain and simple, but also giving the posts the needed “color” without worrying about taking pictures or hunting for images all day. I find that these simple wallpapers as help when I promote the blog on other sites.

This “branding” not only makes it easier for me to focus on content but also is a great lesson in marketing. I see why big corporations put their names everywhere because it lessens the need for spending money or time on graphics or anything to unnecessary or over the top. I know one of the things I have been critical of oak park, Il about is not focusing upon practical issues and solutions.

Therefore, these simple text wallpapers are the epitome of that belief and strategy. I must say although they will be simple I will add a sense of humor to them as well. Enjoy. https://plus.google.com/u/0/102222691833581930279/posts/jVBFAiJUH91

Oak Park, Il blog related: WordPress acting crazy??

Okay, what the hell? So, I read a blog post bout another writer that I follow who stated in one of their posts “WordPress shut down” which left me wondering. Mainly because the blog is like academic and I read it to help me with my school projects, you know free tips and downloads stuff like that. I “pm” him (private message) on fb asking what he meant about that. And he responded that WordPress shut DOWN his blog because the stated the automatic filtering program decided he had infringed on the terms of service.

Being an academic blog it made me wonder why it would do that? But the answer he gave me when he asked the same question was that WordPress could not tell him what happened in detail and what he could do in the future to prevent it! Then told him to just post “original content to ensure that a similar block does not happen again in the future”

Hence my question is: if he got the blog back up and the filter made a mistake, then whose fault is it really? How can WordPress trust the filtering system if it is making mistakes this? Who would put money into establishing a WordPress site or blog if it can all get taken away from you by a faulty program? If I was in school this blog being down would screw with my world, so what if he was an affiliate with a highly successful blog, would Word Press compensate him for the money lost by the site shut down?

All this makes me glad that I am not only on Word press but Google/Blogger. This dude is too but has told me he will “dump” all the articles he has written onto a Wix or Weebly site too. To ensure that if WordPress gets crazy once again the blog “lives” on. I was thinking of the same thing just take all my writings and dump it all at once on a Wix or Weebly account to further piss off the masses.

In any case, this is just FYI for all of you that have an account with WordPress, back that shit up on a Microsoft Word or text document so all the work you do on the internet is not lost forever to a stupid ass computer program and pure laziness.

Oak Park, IL blog progress

Hey, gang, I am working on a couple of blogs right now. I am currently working on a jazzier Fourth of July post one more adult, plus I have about five posts for the Halloween season ready basically because Oak Park, IL is so humdrum it sucks. A couple more links and stuff will be in the post so that it will be more interactive, of course, the videos of the parade are still out there on YouTube from last year for the Fourth of July, but what the hell I want to make it fun.

I still have security issues with this fucking apartment just soooo idiotic how shit is done here. If the main door to the lobby does not lock properly at anywhere else the Gold Coast to Forest Park all I have to do is email the management company or landlord and bamm they would come take care of.

But can you imagine having problems with the main lobby, secondary lobby, apartment front and back doors all at the same time?? Yeah, total clusterfuck with GreenPlan management (oak park apartments). Still waiting……. Weeks later.

Plus, I talked to a friend of mine (Sarah) I think I mentioned her in one of my posts she actually escaped Oak Park, IL about writing about her Oak Park experiences here on this blog. Yes, I am enlisting!!!! Because as Sarah said to me once, “Oak Park, IL is a soul sucking, soul draining experience..” HA!

With wordsmithing like that I will happily wait for her to write whatever for this blog (within reason), seeing that most of the people I talk to about Oak Park, have a seething hatred for it, Sarah included, therefore I cannot wait to add her thoughts on here.
