Happy Rosh Hashanah

Happy Rosh Hashanah or “shanah tovah,”

Rosh Hashanah starts tonight and ends Tuesday October 1st this year.

This is when the people of the Jewish faith believe is the 6th day of the Creation process described in the book of Genesis when Adam and eve were made and also the first full day of the Universe coming to life, almost a birth day for creation.

Celebrations with honey to dip apples, masses at synagogues and the blowing of the shofar – or ram’s horn occur during this time and ending with Yom Kippur (day of atonement) the holiest day of the Jewish calendar year. I hope the promise of a new year (5780?) will be filled with hope and cheer!
