Eisenhower and possible tolls and the Mayor (of Oak Park, Il ) who does not listen

I was looking up traffic for the Christmas Holiday around Oak Park, Il to get a feel for how it is to drive on the Eisenhower, and I saw that they might add toll roads to it? It’s hard enough to get around the city as is, so some greedy ass lawmaker wants to make a profit off it? Geez, no wonder why people leave this area in droves!

Then I saw that the Mayor of Oak Park, IL wants to add ANOTHER round of vote regarding noise dampening walls as construction may begin in 2017. There is just enough bullshit I could deal with this guy if I owned a home here and thank God I do not because he and the rest of the officials in Oak Park, IL ask the people what they think about this wall project, about the pool project and when the residents say “NO!” these fucking idiots want to ask again!!!!

It is like these fools do not understand the meaning of “NO” like they are stalkers, rapists, or really bad insurance salesmen, no means no, so move on! Not in Oak Park, IL where they will push and push until they tax YOUR income until they get THEIR way and THEIR vision of what Oak Park, IL is.

When you think of the taxes involved and the amount of money you pay for the property here, you would think you would be treated better than a 5-year-old kid, some people like telling them what to do, what to believe and how they should pay taxes without PROPER representation of what they want. It’s good we are warming back up to Russia because Oak Park, Il is going to fit right in, the rest of us who say “NO!” to this type of shit, we’re Americans.

Here’s the link to the article talking about the Eisenhower changes, the proposed tolls and the non-American mayor of Oak park, IL who wants to do what he wants: http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/oak-park/news/ct-oak-interstate-290-tl-1222-20161215-story.html

Oak Park, Il budget issues

So, Oak Park, Il cannot pay its bills huh? Typical. Remember how they pushed for that pool that costs millions now the village board has pushed through a sizable budget with tax hikes! I am so glad I do not own property here, but I wonder how they will raise the money they need to cover the “structural deficit” that is mentioned in the article below. I think they will probably screw the homeowners a bit more and then screw, the people who have cars with parking and sticker increases.

I love how everyone or every municipal government entity blames the fact that they have to pay pensions for the law enforcement and fire departments when this is something that these governments agreed to a long time ago, when you already know a bill has to be paid at a certain time, you cannot just kick the problem down the road or just ignore it. Hell, if we can I want to do that with my student loans! But local governments like Oak Park, Il like to make these funds responsible or act like funding pensions is evil in some way.

I bet every person the board is having their pensions paid, I bet they would find the money and tax the shit out of everyone living in the Oak Park, Il area to get that money! The fact that the budget has had deficits for years is just stupid and many of the comments listed under the article seem to agree, but how are these people and this mayor still on the board are still elected and still are able to carry on without any of the residents publicly complaining or organizing, protesting about getting fucked over?

Nah, that would be putting walking the walk and talking the talk, so as long as these officials have no one from the residents or these two departments standing up to them, crappy budgets, ill-paid pensions and high taxes will be the standard for years to come. Suck it Oak Park, Il suck it.

Here is the article regarding the misaligned budget for 2017, congrats Oak Park, Il you hit another one out the park! http://www.oakpark.com/News/Articles/12-9-2016/Oak-Park-OKs-$135-million-budget,-triggering-tax-hike/

Oak Park, Il needs to adopt these signs today!

The other I was out in Berwyn and I parked near the depot at 32nd street and I saw this sign that was from the heavens itself! This “Clean up after your pet… $750.00 fine….”  Sign!

Talk about curbing your motherfucking dog, paying off Oak Park, Il budget deficit, and relief from stepping in dog shit for like, forever get these signs over into Oak Park, IL asap! I would personally miss days of work to report people leaving their dog’s shit everywhere and not picking it up and I do not think I am alone. Oak Park, Il needs to adopt this ordinance post these signs and collect some motherfucking money today!

I know some of these lazy ass bitches I see who smile at me as I walk by their dog shitting on the sidewalk would be singing another tune about leaving that poop down there from people to walk in.

Adopt these signs today!

Bank Of America expansion stalled in Oak Park, IL

The Marshall field building property … what? I just posted about this! Cool beans! This property on Harlem and Lake I have already bitched about, will be part of the increase rate of traffic at this intersection. The new Bank of America location was going to be another factor into the traffic dilemma, but I said “was” the project is now stalled!

Now having an organization like BOA wanting to move into a property like this like wanting it bad is exceptional, but the area leaders have misgivings of what it will bring to the area? HA! Really??? Because it does not conform to the standard of the “commercial area” and you have a Mary jane dispensary a few doors down, come on!

Although I do not like the idea of increased traffic in the area I think the idea of BOA locating in this spots would probably the best option for LESS traffic being generated at this intersection. Now BOA and another suitor for the location are thinking about going elsewhere and they should because why wait for Oak Park, Il to make up its mind If they want your business to be in THEIR area.

It sounds like a crazy ex that wants you to where the green socks instead of the white ones otherwise they are not going with you to your parents’ house for Christmas -sounds crazy right? So does the reasoning for BOA now being moved into this location asap but what does make sense in Oak Park, IL really? I mean they will have a Target store in the area but no BOA, I can tell which would be more out of place in the area and it is not BOA! I just love the fact that Oak Park, Il shoots itself in the foot every chance it can get. Just Stupid.

Here is the article discussing the delay of BOA moving into the Marshall Field’s building:

http://www.oakpark.com/News/Articles/12-13-2016/Marshall-Field-building-proposals-in-limbo/

Target comes to Oak Park, IL!

Celebrate!  I see the news regarding a small Target near Lake and Harlem! I love how the residents and sometimes officials state they want to preserve the “heritage” of Oak Park, IL with its “feel” and architecture and such. Well, putting a Target near one of the busiest intersections around the village and area is the greatest way to do that! Great going morons! Where did the city planners get their degrees? In a Cereal box???

The traffic in this area and this intersection is already a mess so let’s add a huge name brand store and not add enough parking spots in the area because that is the intelligent thing to do. I love the fact that Chicago corruption has hit Oak Park, Il in a major way because there is no way this seems reasonable to the average resident’s sensibilities those who profess the glory of Oak Park, Il’s individual uniqueness.

Now this area of Harlem and Lake has been set up to be as bad as or ten times worse than the area where Forest Park, Il has the Walmart on Roosevelt and Desplaines Avenues. No longer can Oak Park, Il state it is unique it has become like every other village or town that has poor planning and terrible grasps of its own traffic problems. There are tons of places and empty spaces for a Target on Madison avenue but that would be thinking and logical, alas Oak Park, IL in its vanity is not about that.

Once they see the crowds a Target brings (which is almost as bad as Walmart crowds) they will realize someone has sold Oak Park, Il’s already pitiful soul to the devil, but then it will be too late to make changes. Changes in the infrastructure, streets etc., and no I did not forget about all the small unique businesses around Harlem and Lake that a small Target will kill once introduced into the area.

Bravo! Thank you Oak Park, IL for proving me right and that you are the biggest combination of idiots and hypocrites of them all!

Here is the link spreading the joy of my continued on the point opinion about Oak Park, IL:

Tasty dog sign on the market

They are selling the old Tasty dog sign, eliminating basically the last piece of folksy, old fashioned Oak Park, IL eliminating more of its so called charm in the place for more mixed use condos! I think it is great because Lake Street will be SOOOOO busy in this area with the new Target coming in near Harlem and Lake that traffic will be worse than the I-90 during rush hour!

Adding to the craziness in the area and increasing the possibility for more accidents in this tightly contested traffic nightmare called downtown Oak Park, IL. I think later on in the village’s history we will look back upon this time as a rush to development without much thought of the consequences. The means are there but just because you can do something does not necessarily mean you should and that is the case here.

Like the Vote 200 referendum the village of Oak Park, Il cannot wait to start up another construction mess, and throw money into redeveloping the area in to a present day metropolis without thinking of the issues, the problems that brings when you simply concentrate all your efforts into one particular part of the area.

Look at all the issues Chicago has is trying to even out the wealth across the city and spread its resources, look at how congested areas like Wrigleyville and Lakeview (yah!) are in comparison to the rest of the city. The same issues face Oak Park, IL as the throw up mixed use condos all up and down Lake Street and unlike Chicago, it won’t take a number of years to see the negative fallout in this area of Oak Park, IL it will probably be immediate and with less style.

Trump wall or Oak park, Il cul-de-sacs?

I was in a store over on Harlem and Lake and I overheard two ladies talking about how Trump is going to build a wall and how racist he is, now I do not care where you are in this debate the last thing you want if you are against such a wall is to get the help of hypocrites from Oak Park, IL on your side to help. Hypocrites? Yes, since 1964 to about 1977 Oak Park, IL built cul-de-sacs as a means to limit the traffic from a growing black population in the Austin area, which Oak Park, IL shares a border with. With arguments of stemming crime and undesirables the cul-de-sacs were built to mystically stop criminals from coming into Oak Park, IL does that sound familiar?

Exactly! So to hear anyone from Oak Park, Il to bitch about Trump’s wall or how racist he is, with these cul-de-sacs still in place is just ridiculous. A cul-de-sac does not stop robberies, murders and rapes look at the crime statistics for this area plus there are articles stating how ineffective cul-de-sacs are to stopping crime citing the Oak Park, IL cul-de-sacs as an example! Ugh what is the old saying? “People who live in glass houses should not throw stones..”?

How about before you are butt hurt about how racist someone else is, you look around you to make sure that your own actions do not exhibit such racist. Why? Because actions speak louder than words. Trump could never build a wall, saying it costs too much, then what? There will still be the Oak park, IL cul-de-sacs on Austin. What if Trump gets his way and does build a wall? There will still be the Oak park, IL cul-de-sacs on Austin. The point is while these Oak park, IL cul-de-sacs on Austin still exist, no one from Oak Park, IL especially from the time of their origin, should bitch about building walls and how racist people are. Just look in a mirror then take a drive down Austin Ave, and you will see an example of Oak Park, IL’s own type of wall, right here in “paradise”.

Here is the Chicago Reader article about the “Negrophobia” that hit Oak Park, IL summing up how it created the cul-de-sacs on Austin today:

http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/cul-de-sac-has-negrophobia-struck-northeast-oak-park/Content?oid=871407

This is a Chicago Tribune article abut how ineffective cul-de-sacs like the ones on Austin dividing Oak Park, IL and Chicago are, all the way back in…. 1993!!! LOL:

Vote D200 Yes to OPRFHS Referendum: I was sent another fucking card!

Okay, now we are really pushing it. The fact of the matter is that OPRFHS is a pain in my ass, I received yet ANOTHER card about that stupid pool referendum Vote D200 Yes my ass. You know this being an election year we are continuously being bombarded about political messages so it is enough to hear all that shit (no matter how you vote) but to have some bureaucratic agency adding to it is just some sour shit. Do they think by sending some bs about their frivolous project will help garner votes?

Honestly looking at the card all they state as winners are the students, THEN the OP-RF residents, HA! Basically putting the taxpaying residents second, in other words, thank God I rent so I do not have to foot the bill for this shit. But hey I do vote and I do not appreciate such badgering, you do not steamroll someone into voting your way. All that breeds is resentment and then when election time comes up for local government positions in Oak Park, IL, those pissed off residents who still harbor that resentment will vote upon that convictions. Hopefully to appoint new Board members and not have things like this happen again.

A few points:

  • When you state “don’t be fooled” and state your points, unless you are a blogger like myself you want to word your points as if you are stating facts not opinion. Meaning “Actual pool cost is $21.m (Not “37.3m”) attitude much? Having an attitude does not win me over, ugly is just ugly, and I vote against it all the time.
  • The whole card or message is trying to frame this “us” mentality after they already went ahead and voted to try to move ahead with the project they wanted. It is on the ballot because the residents do not want it in the first place. The board did this on their own now they suffer for it.
  • Have you ever heard of an extensive street resurfacing project being voted on by residents, no? Exactly because something like that is necessary, this project is not. How will this benefit the taxpaying residents there is no mention or details if you have time to make two different flyers and send them out before the before the vote you have enough time to specifically state the benefits.
  • This card reveals a Freudian slip in the order they state the “winners” of this project by putting the TAXPAYERS, the resident last, they should have been first. In fact, if you are trying to win funding from someone in the real world you tell that group how it would benefit the community and/or the patrons, not how it would benefit you. Ask any kid their weight in gold when they are asking for a new car. The ones that are successful bring up how they will be less of a burden to their parents, there is no mention of benefits to them. The ones that are not successful are the ones stating how they are going cruising to hookup, pick up their friends to get high or go to underage parties that no parents are involved and there are tons of alcohol. Which is basically what this group is doing.
  • Quotation marks used throughout the whole presentation of the facts, just shows the level of frustration that is underlining this group’s efforts. I am kind of surprised this is coming from representatives of an educational institution but then again I am not.

I can vote in Oak Park, Il and I rent so this taxing really does not mean shit to me HAHA but I will vote no, so this group win or lose can suck it. Oh one more point they state the actual pool cost is 21.4millon, but in today’s day and age have you ever heard of any construction project coming in at or under the proposed budget? Yeah very rarely, and I doubt this project will be at just 21.4 million but I am not worried I am not paying for it.

Just saying NO to the Mailing for the Vote yes Referendum Card I was sent

Oh so I got home and checked my mail and got one of these Vote Yes on 200 the Oak Park River Forest High School Referendum telling me about the Tax cost per Household (annual Property tax Bill) and how it will greatly impact the students of OPRFHS plus the benefits that THEY, the students will reap. Geez, glad I rent over in this bitch and do not own property, I mean it seems like a small group of government or legislative idiots pushing through a measure that will cost the majority of residents a huge ton of cash, in which only a few select individuals will be able to use.

I wonder will residents be able to show their tax bill and use the pool if they want? I mean they will have at least a couple grand invested into this thing by the time it’s done right? Oh it also expands areas for the Performing Arts, which is usually for any school is first set of programs they eliminated if there are budget holes LOL! Does every resident get a free ticket for a concert since they are being forced to pay for the pool? I mean it’s like Windows 10 where Microsoft tried to stuff it down every PC owners that only to have it be rejected by the vast majority of users. Here in Oak Park, Il you have the majority of residents REJECTING the idea of this expensive ass pool.

Probably because like me they do not see the need for the extra expense is needed, nor do they think the extra add-on is necessary there is not a convincing argument for the majority of the residents to add on an extra line cost to their already tightened and taxed household budgets. How about they do not have any kids that go to the school? Maybe they have pets instead of kids, because they do not want any because they do not want the extra expense, or maybe these residents cannot have any? Thanks OPRFHS for pushing this agenda on these groups of residents. How about those residents that are single or maybe even elderly and/or their kids are in college now so they see no need to keep assisting OPRFHS anymore?

I mean doesn’t enough of our taxes go to schools and it seems there are still issues of funding? I think that statement is reflective of most, not all, of the school districts in the Chicagoland area. But to have a school board that just wants to tax the residents for frivolous expenses for things the majority of the residents do not believe is necessary is why I got this stupid card. I mean I did not get a card from the vote NO to 200 group at all you know what that means? It means that the support is there, to vote NO, not to vote YES In other words, it is like when you go over your friend’s house and their little dog runs up to you as you come into the door and starts humping your leg savagely. It’s gross and annoying, just leave me alone.

Vote 200

Now I have been seeing signs all around the village regarding “Vote yes on D200” or “Vote No on D220” and personally I wondered what the hell it was. So I first went to Facebook and found two Facebook pages dedicated to two separate movements to approve and construct a new pool and to fight against the construction of a new pool for Oak park, Il and River Forest, Il. Personally I did not give a shit because I do not swim, and furthermore the idea of wading in a public cesspool of chlorine-drenched, pissed filled water does not excite me.

Before I go on here are the Facebook pages for each:

Either way I hate to own property in this fucking village, and I am glad that I rent, so I have the option to leave. But on August 1st at a special meeting Oak Park, Il’s District 200 school board voted to install a pool, from what I understand without too much resident feedback. Then on August 16th they voted on a cheaper plan either way why these kids need a pool when parking and other things are major issues in the village and not every resident has kids, wasting taxpayer dollars on this is beyond me. Considering that the plan will raise taxes up to $190 per year in some way who really gives a shit.

I do have to mention that there are three plans floating around and plan B (plan dos) has a mention of a parking garage which would stoke anyone with a parking hangover from the poor city planning of Oak Park, IL. However, it does mean that even the school board acknowledges the parking issues in Oak Park, Il so why building a pool is in the best interest of the village is beyond me. In fact, there is a pending referendum coming up to be voted on, since a majority of the residents do not like any of the plans as mentioned in a recent article on the subject I wonder why anyone in the leading government bodies in Oak Park, IL is letting it get this far?

Oh I forgot this is Oak Park, Il and it majors in focusing upon the unreasonable, and the unimportant, give me a friggin referendum on the Nov 8th ballot about construction of some parking garages around the village and see what happens. To me this is just an exercise in poor judgment. Classic Oak Park, IL.

This is the article I previously mentioned regarding the parking garage/pool construction: http://www.oakpark.com/News/Articles/8-2-2016/Fight-ahead-after-D200-board-chooses-pool-plan-/
