Halloween decorations

I am trying to get shit together for Halloween writing articles for the blog but mostly trying to get stuff for my nephew’s birthday which is around Halloween. Therefore, everything is horror themed and since he is getting older the whole gift giving experience is getting easier because now all I have to do is give a gift card and some weird ass Halloween mask and the kid is happy as a pig in shit.

But with all the new movies that are being made via streaming services and in the movies Halloween related material hopefully should be easy to come by. Easier than cleaning out my storage area of all my Halloween shit. I could just put on some True Crime documentaries and call it a day, but I want people to leave my house and not be afraid to go out in the dark after this year’s Halloween party. Just got to see how my budget aligns up with stuff I am going to waste my money on. Having a ton of Halloween decorations makes it easier when I go into stores filled with Halloween stuff.

I have already been in Michaels at North riverside and spent more than 200 in there, the Walmart in the Orland park, il has some great stuff and I recommend go there than the location in Forest Park, IL which is just ghetto. Target is finally getting their shit out but the Target decorations are just lame as fuck. I bought my annual pumpkin LED light, but I was definitely not impressed with anything else they had to offer.

Needful Things which is on the edge of Oak Park, IL seems to have a great display and I will probably check them out. The only other viable Halloween places for decorations is online. Spirit always opens up in some empty storefront in September for the Halloween season, but they had stuff that is overpriced and is poorly made. Part of the problem with Halloween shopping is just that, there is a ton of stuff out there, but a lot of it, is overpriced, poorly made and not scary at all.

Bucking the plastic bag tax in Oak Park, IL

I hate the plastic bag fines that Oak Park, Il has in the village. I went to the local Jewel on Roosevelt avenue without any recyclable bags and had to pay the stupid fine for plastic bags to carry my own groceries out. Now it does sound kind of harsh to say “fines” but it is what it is. It is just another way for Oak Park, IL to take in extra cash and tax its residents for something else. If its not overtaxing them on parking permits, then its other services and property taxes that will empty the pockets of the average Oak Park, IL resident.

This tax not only impacts the residents but the renters and tourists that flow in and out of the village. This extra tax although it harkens to the environmental side of one’s being it is still not helpful in reducing the usage of plastic bags in the village. All I have to do in order to bypass this stupid tax is use some common sense and I have all the plastic bags I want or even stuck my nose up to the village government. Also, it is a way to get all the plastic bags I need for my small garbage cans either in my bathroom, bedroom or even for the one near the couch in my living room.

The first way to excise my brainpower and get away from the village tax is easy. GO outside the village limits, for example, one little car ride to the Walmart in Forest Park, IL and I got a store with almost equal selection of goods and most likely better prices. To top it off the plastic bags at Walmart are … free! No taxes!!! Take that Oak Park, IL but that is probably something everyone knows. The second way is only good if you are buying fruits and/or vegetables, because the produce sections is littered with free plastic bags. You know the ones you use to bag your fruits and/or vegetables?

Well just take a couple extra bags and double bag your produce items so that once you are done paying for your groceries in line, you can bag your other items ether in the same bag as the produce or separate. And the best thing about it is no taxes!! Take that Oak Park, IL!

Oak Park, IL related: No Lollapalooza for me

I did not go down to Lollapalooza sorry, I am not interested in being around a bunch of underage alcoholics, acting a fool. I rather see the music acts in a concert hall, where such things as alcohol consumption by related individuals can be controlled.

I, in fact, was able to go to bed bath and beyond to do some candle shopping (hide that smoke baby!), at Bed Bath and Beyond and then I went to WalMart to go food shopping. But the difference was, the traffic was flowing, the heightened anxiety that usually accompanies traveling through Oak Park, Il. Therefore, I recommend traveling through Oak Park, Il whenever Lollapalooza is occurring you will be able to properly stop and smell the roses finally in Oak Park, Il.

Oak Park, IL blog might be AWOL (Kentucky) because of a Beer and Cheese Festival

I am going to hanging out with a friend of my mine down in the Lexington, KY area you know summer celebrations (because school is done) and a cousin of mine (Carissa) is graduating from the Eastern Kentucky University. I will miss the actually the graduation ceremony  but I will be down there to help her pack up her stuff (she is a last-minute type person) before but I will be in the area to celebrate too.

She told me of there is a fair about 30 minutes away that we can hang out and party at (I hope). It is a local fest in Winchester, called the “Beer and Cheese Festival”, so I have been doing some research on Facebook and Googling directions and places to go like restaurants, bars stuff like that. I will probably be buying her graduation gift down there as well if I can get away from her for a sec.

Since she is a huge geek and reader I found a place called Unicorn Music and Books that it is the middle of the fest, I do not want to make it obvious either. Plus, the book selection at Walmart, Walgreens, and Sears are not places with a huge book selection neither does it has a comic book selection and collectibles so I will drag her there during the fest. She is a light drinker so it will be easy to manipulate her into going and looking through that bookstore while I shop for her graduation gift.

This means I have to get some food in her stomach (besides cheese: gives her gas) so probably hitting D J’s Bar & Grill, the steak on a bun sounds interesting. So, I have four stops around that area to amuse myself and hopeful my cuz so I may have a gap in posts around that time. Unless I can pull off a miracle.

Oak Park, IL related: Meijer leaving the area

Now a closing that I am upset about is the Meijer in Melrose Park, just because I do not like to go to the Walmart in Forest Park, Il (it’s fucking ghetto) or the Jewel on Roosevelt (it’s expensive) this store was a welcomed gem in this oasis of pretentiousness. Pete’s is alright but very expensive as well and the aisles are small to the point I am breathing or tasting everyone else’s breath.

The stores that are left do not step up their game and have not felt the reason to do so. Now that Meijer is leaving the area even though it is two suburbs over is was a fantastic alternative to these sloppy expensive stores in Oak Park, Il and in the nearby suburbs. God I will miss their well-lit parking lots that had clientele I was not worried would assault me in some way after shopping for groceries. That is alright I got mace, I will wear my sneakers so that I am ready for giving out some ghetto hoe beat downs.

Here is the article spelling out that bad fucking news:
