Oak Park, IL is violent af

I recently was doing a search for stuff on Oak Park, IL for the Halloween Season because it’s so boring here. And I used Google which had a list of questions that was frequently asked on the site. The site question was: “Is Oak Park IL safe?”  LOL Really people are we trying to find out if this hippie-fascist village is safe? At this point it is a foregone conclusion, especially if you are reading this (you are still alive).

But according to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) you have a one to thirty-two chance of being a victim of a reported crime. Yes, I said reported crime, because not all crimes are reported. Taking into the basic population of Oak Park, Il around 51 thousand people that is a not a good statistic most of these crimes are property related. But the village average of violent crimes is higher than the state (Illinois) average of violent crimes, averaged out to 348 violent crimes per square mile in the village.

Meaning that Oak Park, Il is not as safe as it appears to be, the village might as well integrate with the Austin area and bring down its crime rate. Hahahahahaha! Wild wild west: Oak Park, IL. And now you wonder why people do not want to live in this dusty lawless little burb. Do not believe the hype.

Preckwinkle our beloved Cook County president on Crime

OMG! Preckwinkle talking about the crime in Chicago is redundant especially considering that she is the Cook County president and what has she done to assist in bringing down crime? A Soda tax? Just fucking annoying to hear that she is now discussing this issue when the person who whooped her ass for the office of the Mayor of Chicago. Now to complain about the Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson after how long? Did she ever complain to Rahm Emanuel about the crime rates or the Superintendent? No.

Then she brings up the lack of employment in the city, like this just happened as the Lightfoot took office. While on the other hand, blaming other states for lax gun laws for the influx of illegal guns on the streets. This is one politician who just delights in blaming others for the problems in her own backyard. And the great thing is that she is running for reelection! With her utter failure to win the majority or any wards in Chicago, hopefully the neighboring suburbs in the Cook County area will not put their support behind Preckwinkle in this reelection bid and let her go the way of the dinosaurs. Which she is one of them.

Periwinkle thinks that this political feud with the new mayor is going to gain her some votes, Rahm is out, Lightfoot is still riding an air of goodwill and hope with the citizens of Chicago. Especially as Chicago’s first openly gay mayor, by challenging Lightfoot, Preckwinkle is treading on thin ice. People are just tired of the same old politics as usual in the city and the surrounding areas also citizens want some accountability and again, Preckwinkle is not even close to that area or expertise. Hopefully, this will be the last time we see of her. Jesus.

Here is the article talking about that idiot:

The Memorial Day weekend and afterwards..

Time seemed to just fly by this weekend thanks to the holiday Memorial day I was able to get away from the village of Oak Park, IL for a little while. I heard the new mayor of Chicago was trying this time,  to get a handle on the city’s violence during this time. I wish the village of Oak Park, IL would have used this time to remove the stick out of its collective asses to bring some life to it. I could not stand another moment of the boring lackluster atmosphere during a holiday weekend in which Men and Women gave their lives so that we could enjoy our freedom by being in this restrictive area.
I think that is what is the real issue with Oak Park, IL it is just a shell of itself, a place tries to be representative of ideals and morals thought to be great and lively. However it is all bullshit the village likes to do the exact opposite of what it tells itself and others and then we all become foolishly residents of a monstrous ploy. It is hard to enjoy a holiday weekend here unless you are stone drunk by Friday night and are recovering the rest of the weekend.
The weekend went by as such, and I totally welcomed it, to be in bed enjoying some silence was fantastic but it was not in the village. Oh no, not here! LOL I went to a hotel in Lombard and enjoyed the room and quiet. Now back I feel yuck almost a film of disgusting vomit covering everything and a feeling of being letdown entirely. And I know I get that feeling every time I come back to Oak Park, IL.

The OP Police will escort you around Oak Park, IL if you feel scared….

Wow so the Oak Park police will escort you through the area if you feel threatened? Lol how about having some extra patrols through the area? Honestly, if I am calling the police because I do not feel safe at that point I believe you will need more than an escort. Or if you are calling the police it is after a crime has already been committed. I wonder how many crank calls, or nervous “nillys” have called in to use this service already? It seems to me like throwing money at a problem that does not match the solution at all.

Instead of doing more patrols just call us if you feel scared? Huh? What is the criteria for getting a ride like this? What is the timeframe? What is the average cost for each time this service is used? How effective is this service to deterring crime? Is the service being used properly, i.e.: is there an actual threat?

There a ton of questions I can ask but to me, this just seems like a fluff piece of news, or a way for the police department or village to act like it is being proactive without doing something really substantial. Oh well it’s your tax dollars at “work”

My Crappy backdoor lock to my Apartment In Oak Park, IL part 2

With the video, my buddy took of the “moving” lock of my back door which I have posted it on Youtube.com. For the second reason, why I post it was so that those who want to move into any of the buildings in Oak Park, Il can see the lackluster job that that this building management company has done in terms of the security for their renters.

As you can see the door is an old-fashioned wood panel door with half the door made of a window frame inlet. Meaning the construction of this door was great for maybe the 1940’s or 1950’s but in today’s society, such a door cannot withstand the criminal, their intent, and a well-placed kick or rock.

Entry into the apartment is frankly easy, even though there is a piece of plastic (1/4) over the window frame it still has areas of vulnerability that needs to be addressed. That having a moving top (main) lock does not solve or help the situation. In fact, it looks like a couple hits from a hammer and a screwdriver to this lock and anyone can get in. With the neighbor downstairs sanding and causing so much racket, none of the other neighbors or myself would hear a burglar forcing their way through this crappy ancient door.

I mentioned it to the guy who showed me the apartment and they said they would be fixed by the time I moved in, so you see how well that went. I hope this video shows potential renters what they face where they rent in Oak Park, IL or anywhere for that matter when you deal with apartment management company that does not give a shit about its renters.

Chicago’s “The Cost of Segregation” impacts Oak Park, IL

The Chicago area that includes Oak Park, IL “has the fifth-highest” out of 100 big city areas in the country with a problem with a socioeconomically issue that is racially based. A report created by the University of Illinois in Chicago “The Cost of Segregation” this report talks about how the racial lines in the Chicago land area impacts the crime rates, the businesses that are invested in those areas, and how this all impacts everyone in the area.

Now how does Oak Park, IL get involved well in all this? Well the problems of Chicago, IL does overflow into this suburb especially since they share a similar boundary of Austin Avenue. Therefore, the ideal suburb must deal with the backlash of failed policies (economic, political, etc.) of the major metropolitan body it is connected to, and denying that Oak Park, IL is being impacted by it is just absurd.

Getting worried about a Taco Bell entering the area or that the Village board selling out creating high-rises downtown, is nothing compared to everyday issues that the people in the most segregation areas dealt with on a daily basis. Their problems of low economic opportunities sometimes translate into crime, that crime does not stay in that area.

It also creeps into Oak Park, IL, ignorance is not bliss, and partnerships across the borders of Oak Park, IL in the less opportune areas could help stymied crime bleeding into this area. Even Though Oak Park, IL does not seem to have a ton of crime it is best to keep abreast of the issues that impact the area. You can read more about these issues below.

Failed Stick up attempt on the border of Oak Park, IL

More Crime on the border of Oak Park, IL and Chicago at Madison and Austin avenues. Does not seem to end however the victim was a concealed gun carrier and managed to shoot one of his assailants to avoid being robbed. Looks like that is what needs to be done to exist in Oak Park, IL, and Chicago, since what really needs to be done i.e.: Economic development is not being accomplished.

Unfortunately, this victim did not get the other scumbags it is bad enough these criminals tried to mug a grown man, could you imagine if this was a woman? Or how about an Older woman (since Oak Park is filled with them) being robbed?

Would that get the two communities working to developing opportunities in this borderline area to stem crime? Would the OP Police force get the equipment, manpower and probably assistance on getting the job done in keeping Oak Park, Il safe like it is advertised?

Most likely. There must be a reallyyyy violent crime to get the attention of the civil leaders of Oak Park, IL to divert their attention away from making money off of high rises to deal with this issue. Then only for about two seconds and then they are back to their money-making ways, while the rest of us must deal with the stark reality that crimes like this actually happen in Oak Park, IL

Here is the brief article that discusses the failed stick up attempt:

Telling people about Oak Park, IL

I think I may have introduced a non-internet person to the blog I was getting my hair done, and I was talking to the stylist about where I live you know how that comes up in small talk at a hair salon. The stylist was like “Oh Oak Park nice!” and I had to stop her right there because I am not going to let anyone get hoodwinked by this shitty little village ever again.

I told her that even some of the residents hate it because of the crime and how the village is condensing these developments near downtown Oak Park. Being from Berwyn, IL she thought that the development was great although she would not go into the area because of the traffic. I immediately told her a lot of people in Oak Park, IL are feeling the same way, crushed by the construction, traffic and parking situation that faces people every day in Oak Park, IL.

I told her about the Old Lady on Harvey story that wanted me to move my car and she stated that “they have parking restrictions in Berwyn but it is not THAT bad!” yup. Of course, it is only that bad in Oak Park, IL a shitty little village trying to be a big city in its downtown without the infrastructure, planning or vision to carry this monumental feat off.  I told her about the blog and some of the other stories that I still must write on here, and she told me she is good staying in Berwyn!

Hey, at least I got another converter or person steering clear of Oak Park, IL and all its craziness before it is too late and that is the main reason why, why I started this blog. Go elsewhere but here.

Oak Park, IL is getting crazy with crime again, emphasis on crazy.

Oak park, Il is getting crazy with crime if you do not have to deal with people stealing Flonase at the Jewel on Madison, to a burglary attempt on Golo gas station on Chicago Ave, with ski masks. They are also breaking into garages to steal a red Toro snow blower.

If Oak Park, Il is not attracting the wrong element and the most idiotic criminals on the planet, we are now hosting fugitives from other states, not just simple ones, the violent ones who stab family members and skip their home state to come to Oak Park, IL to enjoy the wonders the village has to offer. Of course, that means we have a bunch full of crazy walking around in Oak Park, IL, like a ticking time-bomb ready to go off with any slight and the assholes in this village piss me off on my best day, even with a couple in my system! So you can just imagine how many people came in touch with these crazies as they committed their various crimes now, they do have the out of state (would be) killer in custody but that is probably because there were other law enforcement agencies involved.

The question that needs to be asked is: what are local officials and law enforcement doing to stem the increase in local crimes?

Are the local cops doing enough? Do they have enough training or equipment or staff/budget?

Are the village trustees worried about pet projects from school pools and getting behind new lucrative developments that they are simply ignoring the safety issues around this suburb?

When are, residents going to start protests to the lack of action to this type of stuff not being met with a public response?

Will the residents add protesting about crime problem to the problems they raise about new developments around the village i.e.: trees, and grass-killing shade? Maybe not will be done until something tragic happens, as something newsworthy then maybe then.
