Failed Stick up attempt on the border of Oak Park, IL

More Crime on the border of Oak Park, IL and Chicago at Madison and Austin avenues. Does not seem to end however the victim was a concealed gun carrier and managed to shoot one of his assailants to avoid being robbed. Looks like that is what needs to be done to exist in Oak Park, IL, and Chicago, since what really needs to be done i.e.: Economic development is not being accomplished.

Unfortunately, this victim did not get the other scumbags it is bad enough these criminals tried to mug a grown man, could you imagine if this was a woman? Or how about an Older woman (since Oak Park is filled with them) being robbed?

Would that get the two communities working to developing opportunities in this borderline area to stem crime? Would the OP Police force get the equipment, manpower and probably assistance on getting the job done in keeping Oak Park, Il safe like it is advertised?

Most likely. There must be a reallyyyy violent crime to get the attention of the civil leaders of Oak Park, IL to divert their attention away from making money off of high rises to deal with this issue. Then only for about two seconds and then they are back to their money-making ways, while the rest of us must deal with the stark reality that crimes like this actually happen in Oak Park, IL

Here is the brief article that discusses the failed stick up attempt:

Oak Park, IL wants you to reduce your Carbon footprint…. Yeah, good luck with that.

Okay someone sent me an old article regarding reducing possessions to lessen our “carbon footprint” this is actually, not a bad idea in theory. As most name brand (like Nike) clothes, are made in Vietnam and we spend a lot on such items. But do you really think this idea is a reality in Oak Park, IL???

I get my feet stepped on by kids existing in their I-pads at Walgreens at Lake and Harlem, the Village trustees are “modernizing” Downtown Oak Park, IL rapidly and half the parents I see on the streets are just absorbed into whatever “product” they want to buy that they ignore everything under the sun even their own kids.

I did love the article and I make sure the clothes I buy are usually made in America or somehow support local business and artists. I gave up on national brands long ago, like Nike, Abercrombie, etc. and if I do rock something from a chain store unless its underwear I hold off until I find clothing that does not help corporations prolong sweatshops and reduce local jobs.

Construction in Oak Park, IL part 10,1793,000 and something

There is another development under consideration next to “downtown” Oak Park, Il and the Downtown Oak Park Board (yeah there is such a thing) is all behind it. As this writer understands that Oak Park, Il is forcing high rise developments into its downtown area without thinking further down the road. The amount of traffic in the area is ridiculous and there are simply not enough resources (parking) to deal with the “modernization” movement that is occurring.

It maybe this movement is unstoppable however it is without through planning even though I bet the Village Planner (yes there is one of those as well) is probably wetting his willy over the thought of additional side cash coming the local government’s way. Of course, it may not be the best thing for all those involved and it may cause more problems than solutions.

Even Chicago modernized quickly after it was founded and then the Chicago fire happened, changing the landscape entirely. Maybe the “fire” here for the residents to get off their asses and see the issues brought up with all the developments and lack of village planning IS the increasing amount of traffic in the area and the higher taxes (assessments) that go with high rise developments likes this.

Oak Park, IL is getting crazy with crime again, emphasis on crazy.

Oak park, Il is getting crazy with crime if you do not have to deal with people stealing Flonase at the Jewel on Madison, to a burglary attempt on Golo gas station on Chicago Ave, with ski masks. They are also breaking into garages to steal a red Toro snow blower.

If Oak Park, Il is not attracting the wrong element and the most idiotic criminals on the planet, we are now hosting fugitives from other states, not just simple ones, the violent ones who stab family members and skip their home state to come to Oak Park, IL to enjoy the wonders the village has to offer. Of course, that means we have a bunch full of crazy walking around in Oak Park, IL, like a ticking time-bomb ready to go off with any slight and the assholes in this village piss me off on my best day, even with a couple in my system! So you can just imagine how many people came in touch with these crazies as they committed their various crimes now, they do have the out of state (would be) killer in custody but that is probably because there were other law enforcement agencies involved.

The question that needs to be asked is: what are local officials and law enforcement doing to stem the increase in local crimes?

Are the local cops doing enough? Do they have enough training or equipment or staff/budget?

Are the village trustees worried about pet projects from school pools and getting behind new lucrative developments that they are simply ignoring the safety issues around this suburb?

When are, residents going to start protests to the lack of action to this type of stuff not being met with a public response?

Will the residents add protesting about crime problem to the problems they raise about new developments around the village i.e.: trees, and grass-killing shade? Maybe not will be done until something tragic happens, as something newsworthy then maybe then.

Dreams destroyed: Madison Street is being pimped out in Oak Park, IL

I love how some people are still dreamers here in Oak Park, Il or are selling a dream because to believe that Oak Park, Il wants to connect to the Austin area is just a dream. This article or opinion states they hope that Oak Park, Il will give tax breaks to the small businesses like they do the larger developers however with Taco Bell coming on Madison I do not think that the village representatives are thinking likes this at all. In fact, I believe that the author is well-intentioned is smoking the most powerful shit on the planet to think that Oak park, IL is adhering to the ideals he mentions in this article.

The problem with Oak Park, IL is that you are getting an influx of new characters who want the corporate big names, the convenience and the small village “security” that Oak Park, proposes to have, then oh that name recognition! These new characters want all that but fuck all that historic environmental jazz. Trust me I worked with a new young (under 30) resident who did not care what changes were being made at Harlem and Lake so long as their “condo values go up..” yeah she said that more than once. Then you have the residents in the northern part of Oak Park who are highly residential and do not have an apartment building or business in sight, so they are not affected so they do NOT give a shit.

Which leaves the rest of us fuckers near Madison Ave having to deal with the reconstruction and redesigning of Oak Park, IL but not for the better. Negating everything this author mentions in this opinion piece I wonder if he even lives near the area he is discussing if he is he is surely not awake for all the shit that is going on. And he and everyone else that thinks the way he explains in his opinion piece needs so wake the fuck up.

Taco Bell in Oak Park, Il

OMG so Oak park, IL is going to get a Taco Bell?? Awesome, for my late night tummy, but not for the historic sensibility of the area or its residents! Right on Madison Street too!

I see by the comments that the residents understand what type of impact that this restaurant chain moving into their area would mean for the village, in fact it destroys the “look” of Oak Park, Il and the chance for smaller businesses to have an opportunity to come in and grow. But what the hell, since the Mayor and Village board love selling Oak Park away and the residents allow it to happen everything is cool until it brings unwanted streams of traffic, destroys the parking structure in the neighborhood or bring unwanted violence from the people driving through Oak park, Il and wanting that late-night taco fix.

Geez, I have to go all the way to the Forest park, IL Taco bell for grub and those fools look shady in that mother but can fix a mean taco. The resistance to this new Taco bell reminds me of the resistance facing the new Taco Bell being introduced in the Pilsen area. The residents crying about “authentic flavor” but like the new location in Oak Park, IL the sites for development each have been empty for years. So instead of crying about some chain coming in and ruining the ambiance of the area residents should have worked to get smaller businesses into those spots, so Taco Bell would have no choice but to go elsewhere.

Quit crying this is the new Oak park, IL if you are going to do nothing but cry about it and vote the same idiots who ruin your peaceful little village, then don’t worry about it

Oak Park, IL -River Forest Election results shocker

Okay the people of Oak Park, Il have surprised even me! After the general election, I was shocked! You actually did good and voted out at least three incumbents that were supported by the development groups turning Oak Park, IL into little Chicago. These candidates Dan Moroney and Deno Andrews won by better margins than the Village Manager Association backed candidates. Hopefully with residents like these in positions of power maybe, and I do say, maybe the village board of Oak Park, Il will get focused on issues that really concerns the residents like traffic, parking, etc., not just fleecing the downtown area to local developers.

So, this is one of those various instances that I must say KUDOS! to Oak Park, IL. I truly hope there is an atmosphere of transparency and communication as a result of this, fingers crossed. But until they get all the idiots off the village board I am not sure there will be major changes in directions or focus made.

Crime in River Forest and Oak Park, IL

Ah so there has been an uptick in crime in River Forest the area that is usually not touched by crime as Oak Park, Il usually is but now is getting the brunt of its isolationist policies. Both suburbs are linked together in more ways than one, and unfortunately, both are bordered heavily by poor black areas. Oak Park, Il has the Chicago Austin area and River Forest has the suburb of Maywood, I mean if I was on a board of trustees or governing body I would try to reach to these areas to see what I could do to bring some economic development to these areas so hopefully it would attract investment back into these communities and reduce crime.

But noooooo, Oak Park hides behind cula-da-sacs and River Forest hides behind a huge network of Forest Preserves as if criminals wouldn’t run through a forest, obviously, the city planners never watch a Friday the 13th film before. As the crimes are more economic based than run of the mill crazy violence. Therefore, it must be determined what are the motivators behind the criminal’s actions and there is nothing more motivating than living across the street from a bunch of self-delusional shmucks who think an address guarantees safety.

I thank god am not one of those people and I am paranoid, as the good people of Oak Park, Il like to call it, 24/7 but at least I still have all my shit. So until these burbs take the reasonable approach and help build up the communities around them the problem will always exist and problems like these will always get worse.

Burglaries in River Forest rose in this article:

Construction on South Blvd another headache

There is another new development planned for South Boulevard great more traffic problems.  This is another pathway to destruction lead by the same idiot mayor who is trying to have Oak Park, Il under major construction on all major streets without a care to who it hurts. This article clearly states that the direction of this development has not taken into account the tenants of surrounding residences or businesses who would be negatively affected by this construction.

I mean shit you have a psychologist worrying about her “fragile’ patients to worries about developers abusing entitlements and flipping the property to new owners. This is what I like to call a basket full of fucking problems, and the mayor is like, not giving a shit neither is the board of trustees. What kind of soundbite is “I understand the concern, I really do..”  WTF??? That is dripping with sarcasm. I glad this shit is happening its like the people of stuck up Oak Park, Il and everyone else fooled to go along with these idiots are getting the payback for thinking they are better than everyone else. With all their progressive bullshit, with their false pretenses and tell you-what-to-do-because-I-own-a-home-fuckery.

I am glad I only rent and that the village trustees and Judas ass mayor is selling off Oak Park, Il bit by bit, they will probably sell off Hemingway’s home or museum for a high rise next! Logically how do you say you are the hometown of Frank Lloyd Wright with all these crappy tall gothic structures going up all over the place? No, you cannot, Oak Park, Il is slowly losing its identity and I am glad!

Here is the article talking about the South Blvd development:

New signs for Oak Park, Il to make things even more confusing.

Oh so Oak park, Il will get new signs to confuse people about parking her in Oak Park even more, isn’t there enough confusion as it is? You have people with Master’s degrees getting fucking confused trying to understand the current signage that is in place presently, if the new “test” signage is any indication the new signage will create even more problems.

This is the article showcasing the new signage “proposed” (meaning already approved by Oak Park, IL’s corrupt board of trustees): http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/oak-park/news/ct-oak-parking-sign-pilot-tl-0323-20170317-story.html

This sign is just confusing and gives me a headache by just looking at it. It looks like a color key for either playing the new NBA Live for PS4 or a new Grand Theft Auto world map, yeah I used a Grand theft Auto reference, have you ever drive in Oak Park, IL? It makes you want to pick up a hooker, run over a couple slow ass pedestrians and start fights with smartass punks on the Chicago side while riding back over the fake boundary between Oak Park, IL and the Austin Area.

This new signage bullshit is just another reason to go all GTA on everyone. This will not consolidate signage around Oak Park it is another reason for Oak park, IL’s village board to spend money it does not have and another reason to tax the shit out of the property owners. Oh yeah, but I rent, only dog I have in this fight is the confusion I will have from trying to park around here.  To me this is another reason that Oak Park, Il is going straight to hell in regards to its reputation as a “nice” place to live.

PS: I tell everyone I meet and who will listen why not to move here and I have about 32 “converts” (yes I am keeping count) so far. Totally awesome!
