The new Target in Downtown Oak Park, IL is getting a liquor license

I think it is fantastic that the new small format Target on Lake and Harlem is getting a liquor license! You can get a bottle and drink before you go into Bar Louie or anywhere else in downtown Oak Park, IL the funny thing about this vote is that the mayor abstained like he is above liquor licenses! But hey he will build high-rises all over the place probably is looking at Ernest Hemingway’s home as a possible area for development too!

It is time to bring liquor to downtown Oak Park, Il and show the residents how we party and how we can be just like Chicago. I hope everyone realizes that with this September 5th vote that the old Oak Park, Il is becoming extinct. It is wine time homies! Hopefully Target will be able to sell liquor at all times, and have better prices that the liquor stores down Harlem (at Madison Avenue, for example). I am really glad that the area will be getting more traffic and now liquor whooo great job village trustees to breaking down the old Oak Park, IL and replacing it with one that is being sold out at a rapid rate!

Here is the article briefly mentioning the liquor sells at the new Target in downtown Oak Park, IL:

Bank of America comes to Oak Park, Il

I saw this old article about the Lake and Harlem area about how the Zoning Board of Appeals approved a small Bank of America location in the old Borders Bookstore location. Although the article below states that the zoning was cleared and it was waiting approval by the village other articles state that the location was approved.

However, I have not seen any development or construction done yet I bring up this old article because as I previously posted that a Target is being introduced into that same very area. The traffic at this intersection is going to become a nightmare.

I think it is important to think or know about this issue not to have something to write about or bitch about but to have in mind at a future time especially when planning trips through this area. The traffic is a doozy now just imagine the increase of traffic when these two businesses are added to this intersection.

Oak Park, IL has a lot of problems due to parking and traffic throughout the village, but this one will be an assfucking of tremendous proportions.

Target comes to Oak Park, IL!

Celebrate!  I see the news regarding a small Target near Lake and Harlem! I love how the residents and sometimes officials state they want to preserve the “heritage” of Oak Park, IL with its “feel” and architecture and such. Well, putting a Target near one of the busiest intersections around the village and area is the greatest way to do that! Great going morons! Where did the city planners get their degrees? In a Cereal box???

The traffic in this area and this intersection is already a mess so let’s add a huge name brand store and not add enough parking spots in the area because that is the intelligent thing to do. I love the fact that Chicago corruption has hit Oak Park, Il in a major way because there is no way this seems reasonable to the average resident’s sensibilities those who profess the glory of Oak Park, Il’s individual uniqueness.

Now this area of Harlem and Lake has been set up to be as bad as or ten times worse than the area where Forest Park, Il has the Walmart on Roosevelt and Desplaines Avenues. No longer can Oak Park, Il state it is unique it has become like every other village or town that has poor planning and terrible grasps of its own traffic problems. There are tons of places and empty spaces for a Target on Madison avenue but that would be thinking and logical, alas Oak Park, IL in its vanity is not about that.

Once they see the crowds a Target brings (which is almost as bad as Walmart crowds) they will realize someone has sold Oak Park, Il’s already pitiful soul to the devil, but then it will be too late to make changes. Changes in the infrastructure, streets etc., and no I did not forget about all the small unique businesses around Harlem and Lake that a small Target will kill once introduced into the area.

Bravo! Thank you Oak Park, IL for proving me right and that you are the biggest combination of idiots and hypocrites of them all!
