The Harlem Avenue and Lake Street area

I wish I could be happier but I cannot wait to be done with the school shit. There is more money involved with the added education so the new year will be brighter, even though I got my eye on other positions at other places. The raise will give me enough for a deposit on a new place, so I am very lucky on that point. I recently braved the Harlem and lake area, went into the new target and looked at the new parking areas over there.

I am not sure if everyone was not awake yet or the area is that dead nowadays. Maybe everyone has gotten use to avoiding that area. But I saw like maybe under 10 people in that small area which is weird for any time of day. I think all the construction in the area may have had a negative impact on the area businesses too.

I notice that the pub across from the green line is closed, they had a letter posted to the door which is posted on yelp as well. There was a Thai restaurant that there for years which closed too, also there are a couple more places, businesses that are now available to rent or will be opening soon. Which tells that there was a huge influx in the area economically but the village did nothing to keep these anchors stable or in the area. Same old shit, different day from Oak Park il

Oak Park driving in Broadview, IL

Okay I was in Broadview the other day going to the super Target as I was driving through the massive parking lot I got behind this slow ass minivan just strolling through the parking lot and I was right behind her. Ugh god the misery this bitch brought to my lead foot, and speedy little car. Just strolling through the parking lot and then got to one stop sign and just sat there. Sat there. I had to honk my horn to get the bitch to move! And when she did it was very slow, me and the other cars behind me were barely holding it together.

The car behind me was swerving left and right to see if there was a way around both of us and I was throwing expletives at the windshield. We got to another stop and again she sat there I had to lay on the horn like wtf?  She finally moved like a turtle turning into an opposite lane, so I laid in my horn. That is when i noticed the Oak Park “night” sticker in her back window truthfully this bitch needs to permanently park this shitty minivan forever.

My point about this story is that no matter I go in the Chicagoland area the shitty slow ass drivers of Oak Park, Il follow me. It is not just an epidemic contained to that suburb but follows you no matter what. It is a mentality that is ingrained into these idiots very soul. There is nothing that can be done to somehow extract it from their routine. When these idiots have the wheels, they abuse it for the rest of us obeying the speed limit. Obviously, this is the reason people move to Schaumburg or Oak Brook because each time I am in these suburbs the traffic, the drivers move around those streets just fine.

So therefore, it is a cultural thing, that is not easily dismissed and something that needs to be retrained retaught and readjusted, yes all of the above because it is annoying and dangerous to have these fools just strolling through the neighboring suburbs and streets driving like this. I hope that police departments in the neighboring areas simply pull over or stereotype anyone with an Oak Park, Il parking sticker in their back window when they are driving like that hopefully that will be the first step in stopping this stupidity.

The new Target in Downtown Oak Park, IL is getting a liquor license

I think it is fantastic that the new small format Target on Lake and Harlem is getting a liquor license! You can get a bottle and drink before you go into Bar Louie or anywhere else in downtown Oak Park, IL the funny thing about this vote is that the mayor abstained like he is above liquor licenses! But hey he will build high-rises all over the place probably is looking at Ernest Hemingway’s home as a possible area for development too!

It is time to bring liquor to downtown Oak Park, Il and show the residents how we party and how we can be just like Chicago. I hope everyone realizes that with this September 5th vote that the old Oak Park, Il is becoming extinct. It is wine time homies! Hopefully Target will be able to sell liquor at all times, and have better prices that the liquor stores down Harlem (at Madison Avenue, for example). I am really glad that the area will be getting more traffic and now liquor whooo great job village trustees to breaking down the old Oak Park, IL and replacing it with one that is being sold out at a rapid rate!

Here is the article briefly mentioning the liquor sells at the new Target in downtown Oak Park, IL:

Bank of America comes to Oak Park, Il

I saw this old article about the Lake and Harlem area about how the Zoning Board of Appeals approved a small Bank of America location in the old Borders Bookstore location. Although the article below states that the zoning was cleared and it was waiting approval by the village other articles state that the location was approved.

However, I have not seen any development or construction done yet I bring up this old article because as I previously posted that a Target is being introduced into that same very area. The traffic at this intersection is going to become a nightmare.

I think it is important to think or know about this issue not to have something to write about or bitch about but to have in mind at a future time especially when planning trips through this area. The traffic is a doozy now just imagine the increase of traffic when these two businesses are added to this intersection.

Oak Park, IL has a lot of problems due to parking and traffic throughout the village, but this one will be an assfucking of tremendous proportions.

Target comes to Oak Park, IL!

Celebrate!  I see the news regarding a small Target near Lake and Harlem! I love how the residents and sometimes officials state they want to preserve the “heritage” of Oak Park, IL with its “feel” and architecture and such. Well, putting a Target near one of the busiest intersections around the village and area is the greatest way to do that! Great going morons! Where did the city planners get their degrees? In a Cereal box???

The traffic in this area and this intersection is already a mess so let’s add a huge name brand store and not add enough parking spots in the area because that is the intelligent thing to do. I love the fact that Chicago corruption has hit Oak Park, Il in a major way because there is no way this seems reasonable to the average resident’s sensibilities those who profess the glory of Oak Park, Il’s individual uniqueness.

Now this area of Harlem and Lake has been set up to be as bad as or ten times worse than the area where Forest Park, Il has the Walmart on Roosevelt and Desplaines Avenues. No longer can Oak Park, Il state it is unique it has become like every other village or town that has poor planning and terrible grasps of its own traffic problems. There are tons of places and empty spaces for a Target on Madison avenue but that would be thinking and logical, alas Oak Park, IL in its vanity is not about that.

Once they see the crowds a Target brings (which is almost as bad as Walmart crowds) they will realize someone has sold Oak Park, Il’s already pitiful soul to the devil, but then it will be too late to make changes. Changes in the infrastructure, streets etc., and no I did not forget about all the small unique businesses around Harlem and Lake that a small Target will kill once introduced into the area.

Bravo! Thank you Oak Park, IL for proving me right and that you are the biggest combination of idiots and hypocrites of them all!
