How the fuck is there a truck, a semi near the Oak Park Conservatory to hit a light pole and damage it? No, I am talking about the logistics behind this driver’s thought pattern in driving down those narrow ass streets in the first place. I barely can manage it with just a small ass car, the tons of parked cars, the idiots racing through these side streets and the ignorant bastards (young and old) on their iphones walking into traffic.
The damage happened on a Monday when the Conservatory was not opened, and the damage was supposedly still being assessed to the “desert room” which probably suffered due to the recent showers. However, I am just wondering why this truck was allowed to traverse on a side street with its size or weight not being restricted. Oak Park, IL is good at restricting things and I would think this would be one of them. But nope another lesson of common-sense falling on the deaf ears of Oak Park, IL.
Makes me wonder if the village could also expand the Conservatory southward to make sure that such accidents are as minimal as they say this one was. I would say protective barriers around the building but one, that would not help in a case like this, nor would it be fashionable for the residents of the area. But it still leaves you wondering how a “semi-truck” even got down these side streets, freaking nuts.
