Oak Park, IL wants you to reduce your Carbon footprint…. Yeah, good luck with that.

Okay someone sent me an old article regarding reducing possessions to lessen our “carbon footprint” this is actually, not a bad idea in theory. As most name brand (like Nike) clothes, are made in Vietnam and we spend a lot on such items. But do you really think this idea is a reality in Oak Park, IL???

I get my feet stepped on by kids existing in their I-pads at Walgreens at Lake and Harlem, the Village trustees are “modernizing” Downtown Oak Park, IL rapidly and half the parents I see on the streets are just absorbed into whatever “product” they want to buy that they ignore everything under the sun even their own kids.

I did love the article and I make sure the clothes I buy are usually made in America or somehow support local business and artists. I gave up on national brands long ago, like Nike, Abercrombie, etc. and if I do rock something from a chain store unless its underwear I hold off until I find clothing that does not help corporations prolong sweatshops and reduce local jobs.
