Oak Park, IL is violent af

I recently was doing a search for stuff on Oak Park, IL for the Halloween Season because it’s so boring here. And I used Google which had a list of questions that was frequently asked on the site. The site question was: “Is Oak Park IL safe?”  LOL Really people are we trying to find out if this hippie-fascist village is safe? At this point it is a foregone conclusion, especially if you are reading this (you are still alive).

But according to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) you have a one to thirty-two chance of being a victim of a reported crime. Yes, I said reported crime, because not all crimes are reported. Taking into the basic population of Oak Park, Il around 51 thousand people that is a not a good statistic most of these crimes are property related. But the village average of violent crimes is higher than the state (Illinois) average of violent crimes, averaged out to 348 violent crimes per square mile in the village.

Meaning that Oak Park, Il is not as safe as it appears to be, the village might as well integrate with the Austin area and bring down its crime rate. Hahahahahaha! Wild wild west: Oak Park, IL. And now you wonder why people do not want to live in this dusty lawless little burb. Do not believe the hype.

Trolling public officials in Oak Park, il

After the heated exchange between Dan Moroney and Susan Buchanan, the latter is getting trolled with threats. Now, this just highlights the reason for a statement and why the opposition to it is just ridiculous. Even though Ms. Buchanan was out of line with her outburst, being a public discussion and debate regarding this issue. Meaning keep it civil. The fact that she is being trolled and threatened outlines that the village still has a bunch of idiots that no matter how wrong or right, you may state Ms. Buchanan’s behavior was, it illustrates her point.

In the forum someone made the point if Oak Park, IL cannot get past a statement how can it improve on an inclusive environment for diversity that it believes the village to be. The opposition to the statement and not programs that will come late as a result of the statement is not a good look for Oak Park, IL. It shows that how backwards the village is and could impact the different businesses, systems (educational social, etc.), and residents when trying to outreach to others outside of the village’s borders.

Nowadays in an increasing ever changing America, the need to reach out and build bridges amongst diverse groups is required. No longer can one group “be on top” and hope that the others fall in line, that time is over with. Oak Park, IL with the various individuals railing against a statement, just a statement (let that sink in), is just drowning itself in a shallow pool of outdated stigmas, meanwhile dragging its residents and businesses with it. Oak Park, Il even if it completes, agrees, and puts out this statement will now always be behind the preverbal 8-ball because of the opposition and the trolling of Ms. Buchanan. Oak Park, IL will be now known as a racist, sexist, xenophobic, bias, homophobic and hate filled village because of its inability to agree upon, a statement.

Holding people accountable in Oak Park, IL for racial profiling

Thank God someone is holding people responsible for racial profiling in Oak Park, IL I cannot tell you how many times I have been in a car with a black male driver and we are followed by an Oak Park cop. So it is a shame that when you hear that there are arguments about how to address such concerns with the Oak Park Police Department along such obvious lines. During the Sept 23rd meeting, it was between two trustees one a woman of a minority ethnicity who is against racial profiling Arti Walker-Peddakotla and the male middle aged Caucasian trustee Dan Moroney

When issues are distorted by stating “there’s no data” of police harassment or that there is no “system of oppression” is foolhardy its like yelp when 100 people say a restaurant is a dump in their reviews and you say it is not but never patronage it or been there. There are obvious reasons people are stating such an issue, and to be dismissive of it is just a symbol or example of privilege. To have a blind eye to it is not ignoring the problem, it is becoming part of the problem. Even when stating incremental changes “over time” should be implemented is as bad as turning a bling eye, because it means you do not want to do nothing about and hope over time, someone else will have the balls to do what you should have done in the first place.

Waiting over an extended period of time to put changes in place does not help the young minorities of today gain a trust of the present-day police force nor does it help change negative attitude to law enforcement over time. What do you say to the person who was harassed by a problem officer “oh in a couple of years it will get better?” That is like if you go into Whole Foods and they no longer offer muffins of any sort and every customer that asks for them the response is “well, in time they will be brought back…” Did the village start the stricter rules for recycling because they had viable data that stricter enforcement will help recycling rates? I know I did not get any questionnaires about that nor asking me about cross contamination of recyclables, did you?

Hence with no data the village went ahead and put that into effect so what is the problem here? Is someone worried about losing vital support in the community? Is someone afraid that they will be equal to everyone else? Is someone they will be proven wrong and have to actually do some work for the moral good for the community? I would yes, yes to all of those questions.

Giving pause in Oak Park, IL

Obviously not everyone feels the same way about Oak Park, Il there are some people who do not feel safe who do not feel welcome even though they live here. Who feel that the lack of working towards diversity hurts the community instead of helping it. But that has always been Oak Park, IL’s MO always one of talk and doing the other thing. Hypocrisy at its best. Stating who they are not racist but turn a blind eye to social reform because it would mean they would have to look inward and do the work to make change necessary.

With the obvious lack of leadership on so many levels in the village of Oak Park, IL the village loses its luster and becomes another village that panders good tidings but has its racist overtones still in place. The writer in this article has stated their reservations about the “equity” initiatives in District 97 and District 200 and how they will its implementation will help present and future ethnic generations. They also touch upon how Oak Park, Il is changing in its architecture and its stored skyline faltering. The amount of traffic in these areas where the new condos are going up is staggering and will not change any time soon because the common sense is not there to make those changes.

Obviously, I am not the only person who questions Oak Park, IL’s bullshit and puts the place on blast. If you want to read another dissenting voice in regard to Oak Park, IL just go o the link and give a read:

On leave….

Well think what you may a person is innocent until proven guilty. Of course not in Oak Park, IL when a teacher is given a “leave” under “unspecified allegations” ..wow.  Great wording so if the person is guilty, we think “knew it” because such wording strengths our bias, if they are innocent this statement still affirms that the person is guilty of something. And when it comes to kids we always think the worse i.e.: referencing gossip in a letter to parents always helps create MORE gossip than it should.

It seems to me that is how Oak Park, IL deals with a situation like this: 1. tell everyone not to gossip, 2. keep everyone in the dark and 3. then go on like nothing has happened… these are the leaders making decisions to help educate the next generation people! Racism in the school? Let’s shoot out a letter saying there’s no racism in Oak Park, IL, then everyone, move on. Poof problem solved. Not saying the teacher is guilty or not, but this does not help with this situation or if any scenario any of us thought of in regard to this person being placed on leave in the future. I mean, it could something as tedious as lying about certification, to knocking little old ladies down in the park. Fueling the imagination and dealing with it in an unprofessional manner does not help the situation at all. But rarely in Oak Park, IL when the shit the fan does anyone act with any sense. Of course, we may say that happens anywhere, but that too also adds to the problem not solve it.

Here is the link discussing briefly about the “leave”:

“Back on racism” in Oak Park, IL

In the article “Back on the racism-monitor beat “the author states various things that seem ridiculous to most people who do not deal with racism on a daily basis. As you look at the comments you see authors that just do not get it and are simply tired of being labelled as racists and a few of them give a solution to combat racism in Oak Park, IL and do acknowledge it. Of course, theses authors who hate to be called racist forget the happenings at the local school and the racist gestures that contributed to the reprinting of the 2019 yearbook. Which in turn is a cost turned over to the taxpayers. That should be enough to get them off their asshole chairs and want to look into getting the perception of Oak Park, IL being racist changed.

The article no matter how you look at it does start a discussion, about how Oak Park, Il should REALLY look at itself and how it is perceived by others. Now there is that whole “who gives a shit” attitude (anger), denial of the facts, I could go on, but it sounds like I am talking about the grieving process and not how Oak Park, IL looks at itself or is it both? Is there a grieving amongst resident of how the pristine image of Oak Park, IL is cracking under the pressure of evidence, the facts and the truth? The author mentioned the mayor’s poorly written article about Oak Park, IL (…it was, I read it), it does give a look into how the village demonstration looks at the current racial problems in the village and maybe that is part of the problem?

At least this article starts a discussion and gives us all a good look at how there are extreme on both sides of this debate, sides that take somethings to the extreme or are just plainly ignorant of racism in today’s society. Ignorant to the point that they compare “other groups of minorities” to what they believe are superior and infer that (for example) the African American community are too incompetent to do what “the Asian, Latin, and Indian kids…” are able to “figure… out: If that does not say racist I do not what is (thanks for outing yourself). It notes how the village administration has no idea what it is talking about when it comes to dealing with racial diversity and therefore is not the leadership this village needs to get by this challenge and heal as a community. Because instead of giving us this begone era shit it should as one commenter stated come up with a statement about racial equity and get on with it.

It is not Shakespeare or Hemingway, but they are correct. Anyone who worked in a corporate environment or been a part of a great relationship or marriage knows the best way to make things better to work on problems that threaten that relationship or organization, is just admit it the issues and start the building or solution process.  This is what Oak Park IL needs to do just shut the fuck up admit there is an issue and get on with the work. As one of my friend use to say to me: “if there is a large group of various individuals, that keeping mentioning that something is a problem or will become an issue you can be believe it is an issue…” meaning Oak Park, IL can get pissed about being called racist all they want but stop denying there is a problem and shut up and work on being part of the solution, not a part of the problem.

Here is the article mentioning the view of this racial argument:
