The Oak Park village board trying to eliminate the Super-majority for the Albion development.

I love Oak Park, IL politics it makes me feel at home (Chicago) the shadiness, the backstabbing, the other handed deals, and the don’t-give-a-damn-about-the-voters-until-election-time attitude this Albion development is just right up the alley of my interests. Although I am loving this Simone Boutet, blondes are not my thing however the fact that she is a constant thorn in the village board’s side is exactly what Oak Park, IL needs to make sure there is transparency in government.

The idea to rewrite a zoning ordinance to overcome the 5-2 super majority needed to approve the Albion development is the type of underhanded crap the opposition to this plan and the voters never figured on this nor did they have the political literacy to understand the village board is unrelenting. The Mayor is now on defense, and acting defensively. “Duplicative language” my ass. As stated in the article the residents do not trust this village board however there should be more push back than one person on the board speaking up, and a couple of “family” rallies to oppose the Albion development.

The village board is at war with the residents only thing is that they are the only ones who realize it, the taxpayers are just in limbo about this situation. Changes as mentioned in the article must be transparent for the residents to know what the heck is going on in the village. The village board is playing to win, although they are getting frustrated with working this hard, the opposition is not organized to make that great of an impact.

Much like a water dripping on rock to make an impact or wear it down, if there is enough time the opposition can do this in regards to the Albion development however the village board is not willing to give the opposition time. The village board is making sure that time is on THEIR side, and being well organized, you can be sure they will try something like eliminating this supermajority again.

Here is the article discussing the rewrite, shady as hell:

Busy at the beach, enjoying the weather, enjoying that it is not OakPark, IL!

I have been busy with the weather and enjoying it haha! When you want to enjoy the weather, of course, you have to go downtown to the beach, because there is nowhere for adults to enjoy the weather here in Oak Park, IL. I mean unless you are a freak or a perv, think about it who wants to go in shorts or a bikini to a park to “enjoy” the water selections at the local parks with all those kids around?

I mean there are tons of kids at the Lake Michigan beach but there is an understanding that adults use this beach as well. Therefore, going to a park in Oak Park, IL in a bikini is just crazy town because all the parents believe that the parks in the area are for “families” and their children, not for everyone else in this Godforsaken hellhole who pays taxes.

But the beach was amazing I did NOT take pictures however because I did not want to get jumped for my iPhone or my digital camera! Pictures of the lake or selfies are not worth getting my ass whooped by a bunch of teenagers for a phone in the heart of the city, in front of a bunch of strangers looking on, as I get smashed into the ground! Meanwhile, everyone will be thinking “she should have known better..” Ah, nope they are not getting me! But trust me it was crowded but the water was great I did shower when I got home because there is nothing like submerging yourself in a body of water that a thousand plus people are also submerged in.

It is too bad Oak Park, IL does not have the facilities to meet this type of demand, again, Oak Park, IL is losing out on another Positive business-community venture. Something that would make common sense also in the long run, but as most suburbs, they rather leave such opportunities to the major cities they are connected to and then wonder how to raise funds for next year’s budget! It is kind of hard (that’s what she said!) to get the dollars that can be made from this opportunity if you do not even try to be a part of it, or let someone else just “gangster” it.

Oh well, Oak Park sucks anyway, and I will be enjoying the sun and contaminated water of Lake Michigan in Chicago, peace out!

PS: Do not talk to me about those shitty little kiddie pools like at Ridgeland and Lake. Not what ADULTS want to swim in it all at –Thank you!

Grab the Oak Park, IL Park District for Summer 2017 online (ie: spare yo ass traffic woes)

Remember when I said I grabbed an Oak Park Fall 2016 park District booklet? Well, they have it online for Summer 2017 so that you can know about different pain in the ass events that are occurring in the Oak Park, IL area. This way you are not surprised that shit is going in the area and traffic is all the sudden fucking up your Saturday morning drive.

I said before that there are a lot of parks in Oak Park, IL’s borders enough to make every weekend a summer travel nightmare, that can also mess up your parking thing all the way. Not like the village cares all they want is for you to pay a high price for a parking sticker then take away that right to park in your assigned area. Just for the jollies of the idea,

So, take a look at the booklet online and spare yourself a trip to the village (idiot) hall so that you can be kept in the know about all the little flaky dumb ass events they have at the various parks so that you are not caught with your pants down, and slugging it out through tons of traffic. One thing that is synonymous with Oak Park, Il is traffic and bad parking rules, and with this booklet handy you will be able to circumnavigate some of the challenges this village throws at you.

Here is the specific guide for the park district for Summer 2017:

New Park District signs for Oak Park, IL

Oh great, so I see Oak Park, Il just wastes money like the city of Chicago does driving through the village on the side streets to avoid traffic I noticed a new sign for Rehm park. Nice colorful and shiny. Of course, parking and taxes are still issues from residents in Oak Park, IL but who cares about that, so long as we can brightly see where Rehm park is, from three blocks away.

Now if you have been here in Oak Park, il you know what the parks around here look like, there is no disguising it. I mean the population here walk and let their dogs shit everywhere around here, there are bike riders and runners everywhere on the sidewalks in the streets it is like one big fucking park (no pun intended) anyway. So why even bother buying these signs anyway, it’s not like there aren’t baseball or futbul games played by youth leagues or amateurs there. The mystery is the traffic is so bad around here you have to avoid Oak Park, IL altogether to get to Chicago to the rest of the burbs it’s no joke.

However, the village of Oak Park, Il going right in character with their usual sell out ways are spending money on something stupid like this, that is cool though because when I tell people this they really shy away from renting or buying property here. You do not have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out when suburbs get like this they are slowly on a downward spiral to match the major metropolitan area that it is near.

In other words, I wonder if Oak Park, Il’s forefathers would react seeing their small oasis is quickly becoming like Chicago, not only in situations like this, but also in the skyline that as I mentioned before is rapidly changing. Time to pick a new suburb people. A better one.

Why you need an Oak Park Park District booklet in Oak Park, IL

I cannot remember how I did but I grabbed an Oak Park Fall 2016 Park District booklet which tells you about different pain in the ass events that are occurring in the area, because Oak Park, IL just prints the booklets and hopefully you can just pick one up or run after them to find out what the hell is going on around the village.

Unlike most places, like Chicago, or even Berwyn, there are no signs posted before the event happens in the location it will occur in, no mention of these events in local news reports, or even monthly mailers that say hey “remember!” Oak Park, IL likes to keep people either renting, travelling through, or visiting to be surprised by the sudden shit that happens here. And you know Google maps does not figure the increased traffic that may occur in the areas by Barrie Fest or the Great Pumpkin Smash beforehand if you are looking up directions ahead of time, nor is there anything that really gives you the heads up you just have to know basically.

Plus, since Oak Park has a lot of parks in their borders it means that anything that the Park District does in the way of events will cause a traffic nightmare wherever that event in the park happens. Of course, that makes the inclusive bullshit stance that Oak Park, IL supposedly brags about a lie, because such close to the vest non-information shit tactics they pull is more in line with a gated community.

Whatever, so long as these idiots do not get in my way or mess with my parking situation even more than they usually, I have no problem with their stupid fests, because I spend the majority of my dollars …elsewhere. Peace.

PS: I have enclosed some scans of the booklet’s pages so you can get a visual of the booklet if you have not since it before or want to see if you can acquire it online.

Vote D200 Yes to OPRFHS Referendum: I was sent another fucking card!

Okay, now we are really pushing it. The fact of the matter is that OPRFHS is a pain in my ass, I received yet ANOTHER card about that stupid pool referendum Vote D200 Yes my ass. You know this being an election year we are continuously being bombarded about political messages so it is enough to hear all that shit (no matter how you vote) but to have some bureaucratic agency adding to it is just some sour shit. Do they think by sending some bs about their frivolous project will help garner votes?

Honestly looking at the card all they state as winners are the students, THEN the OP-RF residents, HA! Basically putting the taxpaying residents second, in other words, thank God I rent so I do not have to foot the bill for this shit. But hey I do vote and I do not appreciate such badgering, you do not steamroll someone into voting your way. All that breeds is resentment and then when election time comes up for local government positions in Oak Park, IL, those pissed off residents who still harbor that resentment will vote upon that convictions. Hopefully to appoint new Board members and not have things like this happen again.

A few points:

  • When you state “don’t be fooled” and state your points, unless you are a blogger like myself you want to word your points as if you are stating facts not opinion. Meaning “Actual pool cost is $21.m (Not “37.3m”) attitude much? Having an attitude does not win me over, ugly is just ugly, and I vote against it all the time.
  • The whole card or message is trying to frame this “us” mentality after they already went ahead and voted to try to move ahead with the project they wanted. It is on the ballot because the residents do not want it in the first place. The board did this on their own now they suffer for it.
  • Have you ever heard of an extensive street resurfacing project being voted on by residents, no? Exactly because something like that is necessary, this project is not. How will this benefit the taxpaying residents there is no mention or details if you have time to make two different flyers and send them out before the before the vote you have enough time to specifically state the benefits.
  • This card reveals a Freudian slip in the order they state the “winners” of this project by putting the TAXPAYERS, the resident last, they should have been first. In fact, if you are trying to win funding from someone in the real world you tell that group how it would benefit the community and/or the patrons, not how it would benefit you. Ask any kid their weight in gold when they are asking for a new car. The ones that are successful bring up how they will be less of a burden to their parents, there is no mention of benefits to them. The ones that are not successful are the ones stating how they are going cruising to hookup, pick up their friends to get high or go to underage parties that no parents are involved and there are tons of alcohol. Which is basically what this group is doing.
  • Quotation marks used throughout the whole presentation of the facts, just shows the level of frustration that is underlining this group’s efforts. I am kind of surprised this is coming from representatives of an educational institution but then again I am not.

I can vote in Oak Park, Il and I rent so this taxing really does not mean shit to me HAHA but I will vote no, so this group win or lose can suck it. Oh one more point they state the actual pool cost is 21.4millon, but in today’s day and age have you ever heard of any construction project coming in at or under the proposed budget? Yeah very rarely, and I doubt this project will be at just 21.4 million but I am not worried I am not paying for it.
