Ugh I hate the Best buy in Melrose park can it go somewhere?

With the coronavirus hitting a ton of businesses like a brick to head, there are some businesses that are getting their long due desserts. I mean Pier 1, JC Penney, these businesses are blaming the closing of their stores due to covid 19. When really, they have been failing for a long time. Before the virus they blamed customers choosing Amazon and online shopping over their brick and mortar stores.

But damn, whose fault is it that they did not a bigger online presence, better sales or prices, have better customer service? Excuses like this is what these big box stores use to explain their bad behavior, bad business decisions, and lack of changing their organizational behavior to please their customer base.

This is harder for small businesses to do due to a lack or resources, but big box stores have more resources, more money and more chances to make things right to build, maintain and increase their customer base.

For me as an example there is nothing that will have me shed any tears of the Melrose park Best Buy location. The service there is crap, the employees seem to be apathetic and the product displays were horribly presented. I thought if I have to go there since it was closer to oak park than Best Buys north riverside location I would order online. I bought a specific item online, got the email confirming purchase, then received an email that the item was ready. Everything was good to go I got in the car, drove over there, and in the parking lot I got an email stating the item was no longer available and my order cancelled. Cannot get that with Amazon Lol!

Ever since then if I buy anything from Best Buy, which is once in a blue moon I go all the way to the north riverside location. As bad as losing 90,000 plus people is, if the corona “wants” to impact anything, it could impact this best buy location like it did JC Penney or Pier 1. And unfortunately, the organization like the others I mentioned would not have the class, or sense to take responsibility for their bad business decisions. They would foolishly blame this virus, when it’s really their own damn fault. Girl bye.

Taco Bell coming to Oak Park, IL on Madison Ave pt dos

Remember how I mentioned that the residents should just accept the new Taco Bell that is coming on Madison Avenue there was one resident who posted an impassionate plea to oppose this development. This author talks about the “family values” and how this proposal would ruin property values or push all other local smaller, businesses. The article states that on May 17, the Village Zoning Board listened to the proposal from Representatives of Taco bell to build on the purposed site at 7 pm.

Now I must admit I am kind of pissed someone is messing with a late night fix like Taco Bell, but this person has a point, Oak Park, Il is losing its identity, something I have always bitched about, plus local businesses give an area that personal touch and are more likely to listen to their customers (otherwise they go out of business). Now I do not know what family “values” they are talking about and I am pretty sure we are all guilty of eating at McDonald’s regardless of how we were taught that such corporations “bring down a community’s values” yada yada.

Some communities would be happy with a Taco Bell or McDonald’s some places in this area, hell in this country that consider Taco Bell an anchor for their small town, and any argument or thought that any economic development in their area is slight on their values or community standing. Trust me, I have seen it. However, Oak Park, IL say it’s different, haha.

Have they not seen what is happening to the downtown area?

Have they have heard about the Albion development?

Austin Gardens?

The list goes on and on this is the new path of modernization that this little shitty village is on. However, this is America, and if someone wants to speak up responsibly and protest that is their right. You just don’t do it with a smart ass attitude and “holier-than-thou” sense of morals that Taco Bell is beneath Oak Park, IL. Just state you do not want it in your area with facts, not because you are better than the South side of Chicago, Melrose Park, or even Canton, Ohio, just say you do not want that shit in your area. For all of you that did not want it in your area did you go to the oppose the Village Zoning Board on May 17th and give them a fuck full? Were you real about why you don’t want them there, or did you will come off sounding delusional? Probably not.

Here is the article talking about (briefly) the opposition to the Taco bell coming (yes it is) to Madison Avenue:

Oak Park, IL related: Meijer leaving the area

Now a closing that I am upset about is the Meijer in Melrose Park, just because I do not like to go to the Walmart in Forest Park, Il (it’s fucking ghetto) or the Jewel on Roosevelt (it’s expensive) this store was a welcomed gem in this oasis of pretentiousness. Pete’s is alright but very expensive as well and the aisles are small to the point I am breathing or tasting everyone else’s breath.

The stores that are left do not step up their game and have not felt the reason to do so. Now that Meijer is leaving the area even though it is two suburbs over is was a fantastic alternative to these sloppy expensive stores in Oak Park, Il and in the nearby suburbs. God I will miss their well-lit parking lots that had clientele I was not worried would assault me in some way after shopping for groceries. That is alright I got mace, I will wear my sneakers so that I am ready for giving out some ghetto hoe beat downs.

Here is the article spelling out that bad fucking news:
