Teddy Bear Day is September 9th

September 9th is teddy bear day.

It’s teddy bear motherfuckin day

It’s teddy bear motherfuckin day

It’s teddy bear motherfuckin day

LOL For that day give some one you live a teddy bear! I believe it is just a made-up holiday made by companies that manufacture teddy bears (stuffed animals) to make a buck. Honestly what other day are you buying Teddy bears? Birthdays… check, Valentine’s Day… check, Christmas… check, Sweetest day… check oh also, maybe, on an Anniversary. Therefore, there is a long span of time where the purchases of possible teddy bears may happen.

The explanation for this day, to celebrate one’s childhood is very interesting, and I think, reaching. Although it is a great way as a parent, spouse or significant other to break up the monotony of the year and bring a little fun or romance to month that has only Labor Day as a holiday. Plus, it is a great Segway to the Holiday season, prepping not only us as gift givers but those around us to be thoughtful and creative in the months to come.

September 9th is teddy bear day. SO happy teddy bear day!

Happy V day!

It is the 75th anniversary of when the allies invaded the beaches of France at Normandy to start the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany. Many lost their lives that day to protect the freedoms that we hold dear, take advantage of, and champion for those around the world.  Younger generations like us, cannot not really understand what this day in planning, in execution and in sacrifice it took to make this event take place. We all know that the ramifications of this day, echoes into the present day.

V-day established all the facts to the theories we all have in what it costs to preserve freedom and the ideals that are in constant evolution even today. Soldiers went to foreign lands they never saw only to die for a structure of civilization that exists today and is changing in many different ways but always for the better. I hope that for the veterans of this great war this day brought many memories and great pride.

Happy Vday!

The Memorial Day weekend and afterwards..

Time seemed to just fly by this weekend thanks to the holiday Memorial day I was able to get away from the village of Oak Park, IL for a little while. I heard the new mayor of Chicago was trying this time,  to get a handle on the city’s violence during this time. I wish the village of Oak Park, IL would have used this time to remove the stick out of its collective asses to bring some life to it. I could not stand another moment of the boring lackluster atmosphere during a holiday weekend in which Men and Women gave their lives so that we could enjoy our freedom by being in this restrictive area.
I think that is what is the real issue with Oak Park, IL it is just a shell of itself, a place tries to be representative of ideals and morals thought to be great and lively. However it is all bullshit the village likes to do the exact opposite of what it tells itself and others and then we all become foolishly residents of a monstrous ploy. It is hard to enjoy a holiday weekend here unless you are stone drunk by Friday night and are recovering the rest of the weekend.
The weekend went by as such, and I totally welcomed it, to be in bed enjoying some silence was fantastic but it was not in the village. Oh no, not here! LOL I went to a hotel in Lombard and enjoyed the room and quiet. Now back I feel yuck almost a film of disgusting vomit covering everything and a feeling of being letdown entirely. And I know I get that feeling every time I come back to Oak Park, IL.

Going to St Patrick’s Day celebrations

Going through Oak Park, IL and the neighboring area for the St Patricks day parade to get to the Blue Line was tough. It seemed like everyone already started drinking or was dumb as shit behind the wheel. And this was early Saturday not Sunday where all the old people in Cadillacs decide to take a Sunday drive or are heading to church for the fifth that day. No, the streets of Oak Park, IL was filled with more than the usual stupid as hell drivers.

But we were able to see the river dyed green have a couple of drinks and see drunk people everywhere. Funny as most of these people are not even Irish but use this as a time to celebrate or get wasted for the day. Although downtown Chicago is a great place to celebrate St Patrick’s Day it is a shame that other suburbs around the city do not embrace it with much fanfare. It could help the local economies especially Oak Park, IL that wants to tax the shit out of everyone for everything expect breathing (not yet)!

Milking holidays from a business and governing stand point is a good way to get the traffic you need in into your small area and boost the local businesses with some quick revenue. But that would be too much like right. Too much like not Oak Park, IL just taxing the shit of out of residents and not really doing anything else to ease the pain of over taxation. But that would be too much like right, oh well, maybe the next holiday.

Oak Park, IL: Hope for the Fakeness during the holidays

So, we are going headlong into the holiday season with just a month or two of fake bullshit, the ode of the Oak Park, IL motto and way of life. Decorations, yuletide carols, fake expressions of joy, nothing can wrap up the fakeness and put a better face on it. All I know is that I have a couple places designated for shopping in this holiday season and this plan includes avoiding the whole village. The traffic is enough to make my blood boil then add on to it the forced “Merry Christmases” idiots will be shouting to you as you walk down the store or exit stores!
I know a lot of people feel the same way otherwise Amazon would not be the multi-million-dollar company that it is. Avoiding people is almost a job or a skill that many, like myself take pride in. Of course, this is something that could not be understood, by many of the idiots in this village. In the minds of the masses you are strange, or you are an outcast from the rest of the population. Hopefully, people will see the look on my face, and leave me the hell alone. No “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” for me I just want to get through the holidays as best as I can without all the hassle that comes along with it.

Happy New Year

Happy New year to all. Yeah, when I woke up the next afternoon it was a night that I rather not put into print nor take the pictures and place them on any social media site. With that said hopefully there is less aggravating bull shit thanks to this crappy burb this year or the rest of it. The traffic was great at 3am I wish Oak Park, il was like that every day but alas wishes are fishes.

We took a cab in case we were to be blitzed to drive one of the only smart decisions we made. But if you get home without getting mugged, passing out in a pool of your own puke, etc., You have won the gold medal for New Year’s Eve partying, drinking and stinking.

Again, I do not remember too much about Nye in Oak Park as I spent it downtown with friends, but what I do remember was that the traffic was great. Probably because of the puritan atmosphere of the village that is projected but it was dark and dead in the village making the rest of the trip back easy and less expensive. Happy New year indeed.

I hate feel good stories no matter what the season

I really get bored looking at the “feel good” stories on television or the holiday bull shit. Not that I am bah humbug or am disrespectful towards Christmas I just hate being told that I have to be positive because it is a certain time of year. Ugh just leave me the hell alone in my misery if that’s where I want to be.

One thing I do not own and activity I will never participate in is the ugly sweater contest. Never. I am just like that lol. But I am in a get it done mode, and I am still drained I guess emotionally too from graduation I finally slept a whole eight hours Saturday. And even though it was Friday shit ain’t stopping me from working on the next steps of moving career wise and location wise.

he smiles from the fam made it all worth it, however I am still a bitter bitch. And if I want to I will be the dictionary or urban dictionary’s definition of a petty bitch if I want to. There is no need to change the formula of what keeps me successful and that is a plate of bitchiness and a side of saltiness. No matter what the holiday.

Happy Thanks giving from Oak Park, IL blog!

For those of you celebrating thanksgiving: Happy thanksgiving!

For those of you not celebrating it for any reason I do not blame you. I have tons of work to do for third module projects and final projects that going to an uncomfortable get together with family to eat dry turkey and to look, not eat, green bean casserole is definitely out the cards.

I simply do not even have the energy to commit to their nonsense and finish my degree plan. Its either focus on the end of two years’ worth of work, or dealing with another year of relatives asking “aren’t you done with school yet?” Sorry, but I trying to get somewhere on life lol and that in the end is what I will be thankful for.

Oak Park, IL -Fourth of July: Best place for actual fireworks in this area is in Berwyn, not Oak Park, Il

Oh Man, I as I said in a previous post I hope Oak Park, Il had a better fourth of July parade. Mainly when you think of Fourth of July you think of “fireworks” that is not in the competencies of Oak Park, IL. The video I posted on youtube.com should show it is great for kids and that is about it. Not for drivers, adults (well maybe pedo bears) but not the explosiveness display most people like to see. Well, I did not go this year because of that, in fact, I went to my friend Sarah’s place in Berwyn, because Berwyn, Il has fireworks!

We were on the rooftop of her apartment building watching a clear view of the fireworks from Morton High School on Harlem Ave. I think she took video stingy ass. I was getting lit and trying not to fall off the damn roof. But it was a better alternative than running all the way to downtown Chicago or being with a ton of kids and pedos trying to get my drink on.

Therefore if you want to see a really Fourth of July celebration and see fireworks but do not want to get shot in Chi-Iraq I recommend this avenue of celebration INSTEAD of the one in Oak Park, IL if you are of the grown-up variety, Got kids though? stay in Oak Park, IL

Please note: I do know Oak Park, IL has fireworks at their high school as well, but I am factoring in also the times that were given: 7 pm (Berwyn) vs dusk-ish (Oak Park, IL); then adding the factors of traffic and transportation and things to do in that area afterwards. Oak Park, Il is really lacking in those areas I have mentioned in the latter.
