Albion, Albion, Rush Oak Park, Albion, and Albion some more..

Holy shit so after reading this article (“Oak Park Plan Commission issues findings on Albion, Rush”) you are telling we will be hearing about this Albion crap in about two years?? Again? First off, I am glad that the village is expanding the Rush Oak Park Hospital, it is practical well thought of and ideal if the village wishes to expand its population base. Expanding the population base also expands the tax base too, so I know the village is drooling over the thought of all those additional tax dollars with the different high rises they are trying to push through. It is the same crap in Chicago, Oak Park, Il is no better. But the idea of expanding the hospital to me makes sense and I am glad it is out of the reasonable decisions made by the village board.

However, with this Albion crap they have just gotta let it go. Stroll down to the comments and the majority of the people commenting don’t want the friggin thing so why not listen to the people or put it to a ballot to end to this nightmare. Why not ask the people what they want or have a bunch of designs and put those designs to a vote, either through ballot (paper) or online. I just do not want to hear about it for the next two years, well, hopefully I won’t be trapped here that long! Then I can really crap on Oak Park, IL! (LOL) I am glad that most of my favorite places are back in the “trendy” places in the Chicagoland area, and the ones that I do like in the Oak Park, IL area are on the borders so I do not have to put up with the traffic problems.

I mean let’s be realistic an 18-story building is going to bring a lot of traffic to that area, and the plans provided do not have any ideas realistically to deal with that influx. What a parking garage? If that was a solution then why doesn’t Oak Park, Il not have dozens of parking garages all around the village then to truly help the residents? Because there is no money in that type of thinking, with that type of logic you know that the story of the Albion development if defeated in the next couple of months will just “pop” back up in two years’ time. Hey, everyone loves a sequel right? Ugh.

Here is the article talking about the dreaded Albion development rising from the dead like an extra from a George Romero movie:

Other developments in Oak Park, IL like Albion are in full effect.

This “Jupiter project” was opposed successfully however once the opposition blinked the village board made their move, much like the Albion development. The Mayor stated that the village can walk away from the deal but how much is that true when the village board purchased the deal after the opposition waned? The argument that other village boards tried to do the same is just a childish explanation, but one that the residents of Oak Park, Il buy into.

The project or multiple projects that the village is planning to use this parcel of land for is probably extensive, if Plan A does not work then they will try and try again even if it means defaulting all the way to Plan F or Plan Z.

The village board is relentless in trying to make these new “high rise” development projects work and become reality. Their resolve is fantastic and for that you must tip your hat at, the fact that the residents cannot do the same, nor remember these moves when election time comes around is part of the problem.

The plans for redeveloping the area go back to at least September 2016 however stated dates are usually not the fact of the matter. In other words, planning for developing this piece of land has gone back most likely farther than I care to Google it. As the old saying goes: “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me…” however the residents will “turn the other cheek” until they are taxed or have the taste slapped out of their mouths.

I love how the village is redeveloping the main streets of Oak Park, IL with high rise developments to stay off increasing taxes (as the argument goes). But I am just wondering when will the high-rise developments come to the inner parts of Oak Park, IL? Is that when the opposition to these projects be unrelenting or will it be too late?

Here is the article discussing new acquisitions by the village board in the name of the taxpayers:

Google Plus photo collections for Oak Park, IL

I saved some more photos to a Google Plus collection for public use.

“The Forest Park, IL various photos collection”: https://plus.google.com/u/0/collection/84YWJE

“Construction in Oak Park, Illinois” various photos collection: https://plus.google.com/u/0/collection/wgeVJE

The First collection is my first photo dump of Some of the things in Forest Park, IL nothing really major, just some of the stuff I have talked about in the previous blogs, like FP police, Bed Bath and Beyond, but now including the Repainted Forest Park Circle Avenue bridge next to the Ferrera Pan factory. I took most of the photos travelling through the suburb so they were taken quite quickly, I am just glad they were in focus!

The second one is a photo dump of the Construction near Lake Street and Harlem Avenue, especially near the Marion Avenue side street and adjacent parking lots. Just took a bunch of pictures as I walked through one day onto my way to Jerusalem Café which I talk about in my Yelp reviews.

Again, I took the photos for public consumption use anywhere or anyhow that you may. Bitches.

Say no to Albion in Oak Park, IL

Totally awesome, finally Oak Park, Il residents have used their collective wits to stand against more bullshit development in the Oak Park, Il area. With the vote going 5-4 to say “NO” to the development of the Albion development is a major accomplishment. Because the money is what talks in Oak Park, IL with this vote obviously the “winds of change” are going another way. Protection of Parks in Oak Park, IL is very instrumental without the green areas
Oak Park loses its luster. However, this is only a “recommendation;” and the village board can still go ahead.
So why is that awesome? Because at least the voices of the residents of Oak Park, IL are being listened to by someone in the planning and development stages. Hopefully, the citizens sue the village board if they go ahead and point to this “recommendation” by the Oak Park Plan Commission to delay the selling of Oak Park, IL to special interests that the village board is okay doing.
If the residents that pay taxes are not okay with this development why is the village board going ahead with such stupidity? Because they are a smaller identical twin government of dysfunctional City of Chicago government that you see dominating the news on a daily basis with their stupidity.
If the residents were smart they would protest this crap on a bi-weekly basis forever and ask/get local media to cover it, the more “light” the residents can bring to this issue the less likely the cockroaches on the Village board will push through such crap. But that is only if the residents who are against this development have the balls to do so, this vote gives them the ammunition to totally stand against the village board.
Now it comes down to putting boots on the streets of Oak Park, IL or will the residents just sit on their asses at home complaining about it on social media, me? I have no dog in this fight I cannot care either way if the residents choose the latter then Oak Park, IL will be just the biggest hypocrites on God’s green earth.
This discusses the decision online:

Modern Construction will eliminate “Vintage” wiring in Oak Park, IL

I cannot believe that the local government agencies allow apartment buildings in the Oak Park area to have such crappy electrical set ups for their buildings. I mean there are outlets from the 1950s or maybe 1930s it’s just ancient compared to today’s standards or the new construction that is occurring in downtown Oak Park. It is so scatterbrained, it is like the village is waiting for a major fire to happen before having on a set of standards.

Of course, these vintage set ups are still allowed because renters buy into the illusion that Oak Park’s culture and acceptance into the area’s community is just to “roll with” it. However, this illusion is now being challenged by the new buildings being built in the area, it shows that the new residents are not accepting these old-fashioned standards. In fact, today’s technology of temperature controls, surge protector outlets, and low wattage lights are all pieces of the environmentally friendly message that Oak Park, Il espouses to masses.

But again, the massive contradiction that is Oak Park, Il there is this environmental holier than thou message or fantasy that is pushed by those disillusional hippies here only to be dashed by the reality of the two prolog outlets that pop up in the various dwellings here in Oak Park, Il. The two standards cannot exist side by side, and the more younger renters that come into the village the louder, the more the voices that will request, that will demand newer standards.

The demand for new technology for dwellings to become environ mentally friendly will become prevalent. Change is inevitable for Oak Park, Il and I for one cannot wait to see it happen. The more people who speak up for modern technology the more likely we will be seeing the end of “vintage” wiring in Oak Park, Il.

Have a bad situation in Oak Park, IL, the bureaucracy will make it worse

I read an article about how Oak Park, IL’s bureaucracy basically screwed over a family that was trying to recover after a fire to their home. After the Dec. 7, 2016, fire the owner got the ball rolling for rebuilding for him and his family. The owner’s contractor has made mistakes in the plans however in this process, Oak Park, IL uses a third-party vendor to (as they imply) streamline the application and approval/rejection.

So, after the owner got a rejection on the March 22 it was resubmitted then on April 27 the third party approved the application and gave a permit. Only to have it rejected by the village’s building department the next day, meaning that these two segmented departments that one gives the so-called approval process to the other only to have the first department override the latter. That seems to me like Organizational dysfunction, which is what this is.

Regardless of the whole story as mentioned in the article, however, the point is, that even after the situation was mentioned (about the fire) one of the village building representatives stated that once they knew the situation, it got fast forwarded. However, another one, the director of development customer services, stated that all cases (no matter the circumstances) are managed “in the same queue” and that the owner could have paid a double fee to get himself pushed up to the front of the line. NICE.

I can really, feel the empathy from the director of what???? “development customer services” to justify the dysfunction with you can be double charged, even after your fire, a fee to lead probably more dysfunction…. just so ignorant. Oh and the Oak Park Chief Building Official stated that only two or three new construction projects are “done” a year….. I see why due to all the red tape residents must go through for their construction projects who the fuck would bother? Unless they were backed with a developer and tons of money to grease the wheels further like the projects downtown, people like this unfortunate owner get the runaround and ignorance thrown at them.

Oh, I did note in this article the village representatives mentioned that the owner’s architect could have come into the village in person to “work out the problems” sounds like under the table, corruption type shit to me. Why? Because if they can email the plans to the third-party vendor as the Oak Park representatives mentioned in the article why could they not email the architect about the problems with the plans?

This to me is a great reason why not to buy property within Oak Park, Il there is crazy restrictions, red tape and corruption all over this village. The residents obviously put up with it and keep voting corrupt officials who perpetuate this situation and with them being part of the problem, I am sure that what happened to this homeowner has happened before and will again.

Construction in Oak Park, IL part 10,1793,000 and something

There is another development under consideration next to “downtown” Oak Park, Il and the Downtown Oak Park Board (yeah there is such a thing) is all behind it. As this writer understands that Oak Park, Il is forcing high rise developments into its downtown area without thinking further down the road. The amount of traffic in the area is ridiculous and there are simply not enough resources (parking) to deal with the “modernization” movement that is occurring.

It maybe this movement is unstoppable however it is without through planning even though I bet the Village Planner (yes there is one of those as well) is probably wetting his willy over the thought of additional side cash coming the local government’s way. Of course, it may not be the best thing for all those involved and it may cause more problems than solutions.

Even Chicago modernized quickly after it was founded and then the Chicago fire happened, changing the landscape entirely. Maybe the “fire” here for the residents to get off their asses and see the issues brought up with all the developments and lack of village planning IS the increasing amount of traffic in the area and the higher taxes (assessments) that go with high rise developments likes this.

Telling people about Oak Park, IL

I think I may have introduced a non-internet person to the blog I was getting my hair done, and I was talking to the stylist about where I live you know how that comes up in small talk at a hair salon. The stylist was like “Oh Oak Park nice!” and I had to stop her right there because I am not going to let anyone get hoodwinked by this shitty little village ever again.

I told her that even some of the residents hate it because of the crime and how the village is condensing these developments near downtown Oak Park. Being from Berwyn, IL she thought that the development was great although she would not go into the area because of the traffic. I immediately told her a lot of people in Oak Park, IL are feeling the same way, crushed by the construction, traffic and parking situation that faces people every day in Oak Park, IL.

I told her about the Old Lady on Harvey story that wanted me to move my car and she stated that “they have parking restrictions in Berwyn but it is not THAT bad!” yup. Of course, it is only that bad in Oak Park, IL a shitty little village trying to be a big city in its downtown without the infrastructure, planning or vision to carry this monumental feat off.  I told her about the blog and some of the other stories that I still must write on here, and she told me she is good staying in Berwyn!

Hey, at least I got another converter or person steering clear of Oak Park, IL and all its craziness before it is too late and that is the main reason why, why I started this blog. Go elsewhere but here.

Construction on South Blvd another headache

There is another new development planned for South Boulevard great more traffic problems.  This is another pathway to destruction lead by the same idiot mayor who is trying to have Oak Park, Il under major construction on all major streets without a care to who it hurts. This article clearly states that the direction of this development has not taken into account the tenants of surrounding residences or businesses who would be negatively affected by this construction.

I mean shit you have a psychologist worrying about her “fragile’ patients to worries about developers abusing entitlements and flipping the property to new owners. This is what I like to call a basket full of fucking problems, and the mayor is like, not giving a shit neither is the board of trustees. What kind of soundbite is “I understand the concern, I really do..”  WTF??? That is dripping with sarcasm. I glad this shit is happening its like the people of stuck up Oak Park, Il and everyone else fooled to go along with these idiots are getting the payback for thinking they are better than everyone else. With all their progressive bullshit, with their false pretenses and tell you-what-to-do-because-I-own-a-home-fuckery.

I am glad I only rent and that the village trustees and Judas ass mayor is selling off Oak Park, Il bit by bit, they will probably sell off Hemingway’s home or museum for a high rise next! Logically how do you say you are the hometown of Frank Lloyd Wright with all these crappy tall gothic structures going up all over the place? No, you cannot, Oak Park, Il is slowly losing its identity and I am glad!

Here is the article talking about the South Blvd development:

The fleecing of Oak Park, IL

I love the new fleecing of Oak Park, Il’s downtown, I love the chaos it will bring. Screw the environmental bullshit, the “shade will kill trees” crap oh I love it, these are the representatives that the residents of Oak Park, Il voted in, doing this shit and the residents are getting what deserve what they get. Representatives who are pimping out downtown property to development companies that honestly are not in the wrong here, but are taking advantage of an opportunity that is presented to them by these elected representatives.

Isn’t that what the residents of Oak Park, Il teach their kids? When an opportunity is presented take it! I love seeing and hearing about these idiots planning events with face painting smores and nature tours…. Hahahaha what the fuck is that supposed to do? What kind of hippie-tree-hugging shit is that? Get a fucking real strategy like picketing the development companies’ offices or the homes of their employees or how about getting petitions for new elections for new representatives? Grow the fuck up or just accept that Oak Park, Il is slowly becoming little Chicago dipshits.

You already got fucked parking rules and crazy taxes for cheaper property assessments meanwhile the village is increasing looking like most of the residential section are stuck in the 1980s with paint jobs that mirror that time. Now you got a mayor that cannot wait to sell half of downtown away to developers increasing traffic problems and killing that nostalgic “feel” that Oak park, Il is clinging onto like a crackhead to his pipe. But hey just keep an “open mind” like your mayor said, hey you’re progressive Oak Park, Il congrats! But nothing is helping you save your idyllic hometown with this idiot as mayor. Hahhahahahaha Idiots aplenty!

The movement being lead by the lead sell out, the mayor of Oak Park, IL:

These are some articles that talk about the “rallies” the residents had, in comparison dogs with diarrhea would have been more effective making a statement than these fools:
