Needed a break -Update from Oak Park, IL blog

Yeah I have been busy after October I needed a break, the cubs went down in flames really fast in the playoffs then I got dragged to the series. Only to be bored to death, and suckered into trick or treating with my nieces and nephews around Oak Park, IL. Oh, then I have classes I doubled up this time to get done with my degree because Roosevelt university likes to fuck up your financial aid if not that your class schedule is screwed up to the point you have to wait a year to take one fucking class. No, I am not kidding and I am going to Roosevelt online! It is the dumbest shit ever.

So obviously with work, two classes and oh instructors who have no idea what is going then add your fellow students who write at a third grade or can only manage one sentence. I am not the brightest crayon in the box but come on! Therefore, you can understand my focus on getting that shit done, and putting the blog on the back burner. When you are dealing with an influx of stupidity it gets hard to multitask but I will be back.

What a weekend..

Holy crap the whole Cubs season has been a rollercoaster, the end of the season, I thought there would be a great chance for a repeat, but only to have it end in a spanking that I did not enjoy, ugh. That was on Diwali (Hindi holiday), Friday so I was then pulling for the Yankees to pull it out only to be disappointed on that front, so now I am recovering from this weekend of disappointment. At least it was a happy day for those of you celebrating Diwali especially in India!

Okay, I wanted a freeze drink, to get me over the Cubs loss, I asked for it in the taco bell drive thru around 11pm in Berwyn where I went to see the Cubs game at a local sports bar. However, was told the freeze machine was “down” I went back the NEXT day (to go see the Yankees game). All of the sudden the freeze machine was working, in less than 24 hours???? What bullshit. I wanted to tell that bitch off so bad but I wanted the 10 tacos I order too! LOL

I have the last classes coming up starting Monday (today) what a pain but hopefully I can get done with it. The change in programs or the umbrella it was under has stressed me out to the ninth degree so I am just trying to complete it before they change it again and add more requirements. This is some Dumb ass secondary education bullshit only at the Postgraduate/graduate level what a wonderfuck but I am happy to get it over it so I am not as “nailed down” here due to educational constraints.

Oak Park, IL blog update 10/17

What the hell I have been doing? Well good question I usually write and post these blogs like five at once but recently school has been a pain in the ass and that is one of my issues getting stuff done. Being online for school does not mean that the teachers understand the concept of “working individual” meaning that you do not have your mommy and daddy paying you’re your room and board or you are living at a dorm and school in the main thing you have to do in this world. Meaning I love last minute adjustments to major assignments and added readings to complete in a two-day time span for 40% of my grade it’s just peachy. Everyone who has gone to school and worked and had their own place can understand it is not pretty.

Then since it is October the Cubs are in the playoffs, as a Cubs fan back in the day we just wrote off October and switched to hockey but not nowadays! After that first nail biting series with the Washington Nationals all of us in Cubs nation have to realign our schedules and adjust our heart medication due to these near misses. Now it is time for Los Angeles and hopefully back to the World Series even though IT IS very hard to do. I believe that the Cubbies will go all the way.

Add to that the season that we are in, Halloween, I am decorating and getting candy, go to the store for miscellaneous stuff for costumes and what not. I have posts already written for October and scheduled to post all the way through in case my school work got funky (just one term to go!) and my Cubbies were having troubles as they are in LA right now and had in Washington Dc. I have the plastic containers out and have a quarter of my stuff hung, I also decorated my outside door that leads to the main hallway and the neighbor copied my example, the cunt bitch.

Then whatever parties I may have to go with friends, while juggling nieces and nephews who want me to hang out with them on Halloween or before then, buying candy that I will eat and then some for the kids. But that will hopefully will not all turn into a mess this October and will be a great month all the way around.

PS: The picture is for that decoration copying hoe

The closing of the Wrigleyville Taco Bell-Oak Park, IL blog related

Making news is the closure of the Wrigleyville taco bell, I have been there only once (seriously). The hilarious thing is how this location is being lambasted on yelp.com by other Chicago Cubs fans. Mostly due to the crappy service most people received there, and of course the food. I went there years ago and got sick off the food and never went back. Therefore the idea that this restaurant is getting such hoopla is crazy, if you are screwing up your customer’s orders then you should be closed. I believe what is making headlines is that this “iconic” location is being replaced with something totally different and better.
Having restaurants in Wrigley field already kills the need for exterior restaurants, especially crappy ones. The neighborhood is changing again bringing more traffic woes, more jobs and increases in property values (higher taxes). But Wrigleyville has always been evolving, changing, and not always the way we like, only Wrigley field has basically remained the same sans lights or extra seating. The fact that it is such a big deal, is a mystery to me, I know that in fifty years all of Wrigleyville will be entirely different from what it is today.
That may be negative or pessimistic or some shit, but realistically change is inevitable. we can do now is demand that as cubs fans what replaces this piece of shit restaurant is along the lines of the spirit of the old ballpark. Replace them with Businesses that enhance the experience for the Fan visiting the area, tourist going to the game or the residents living there. The best way we can ensure that these businesses stay in line with the cubs spirit is with our wallets, and save our tears not for this shitty taco bell but for something more important, like when the Cubs lose 😢

Oak Park, Il blog related- Chicago Cubs Schedule

I have to try to get it together for the new Chicago Cubs season I have only seen a couple of innings of the first four games and I totally missed the ring ceremony and had to search for online. But for all the fellow Cubbie fans out there I made sure that I got the schedule right here for easy download.

Click the link here for the downloadable printable schedule: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/downloads/y2017/2017-Cubs-Schedule.pdf

I hope the Cubs go all the way again to the World Series and bring it all home again. Because I definitely love the experience and trips to Wrigleyville my home away from home (Oak Park, IL ugh).

Tasers for Oak Park, IL Police… finally

Although it is awesome news that the Oak Park Police Department are getting Tasers so that they can police the area properly, I remember bitching around the time the Cubs were in the series and how it may be dangerous for me to go back and forth between Oak Park, Il and Wrigleyville.

One of the main options is the green line, I do not take the blue line as much since some dude threw a bag of poop on a rider a year or two ago, but now hearing that even the cops are being attacked and choked out on a green line train. The fact that the department is the only one in the area without Taser is crazy, although the village is more concerned with multimillion dollar pools for the Oak Park River Forest High School its shows where their priorities!

Pool over officer safety and proper policing, sounds just like Oak park, Il more concerned with ascetic than functional or common sense needs. Just ridiculous and here everyone I knew thought I was a crazy paranoid bitch worrying about the crime issues on the “L” lines, but now we know.

Here is the article that discusses the approval of the $90k budget for the Tasers (cheaper than a $40 million pool):

From Oak Park, IL to the Chicago Cubs World Series parade downtown

Damn I was downtown, at the Cubs parade I could not get any pictures though, because I was packed in with another 5 million people (Cubs fans) and soon as the double deckers came around it was like a wave of people crushing down on my ass! It was worse than the Blackhawks parades, which I left work to go see, yeah I straight told the boss and he was like “hell yeah” and I got some pictures from that but this Cubs parade? No way honey! I realized that I also could not leave my spot otherwise I would not have seen the players and the other people around me would have definitely took it! So I did not drink anything, I was so dehydrated!

Anyway like I have said beforehand there is nothing going on in Oak Park, IL with any Chicagoland sports teams, nothing, absolutely nothing. No honors, no special events, just eh, I mean they will spend 40 million on a pool that their high school swim team can only use, but other than that, it is just dry a stale sliced white bread.

<> on November 2, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois.

But how about those Cubbies? After 71 years of last going to the World Series, after 108 years of last winning a World Series, then staging a comeback after being down 3-1 in the series, then blowing that lead in Game 7, man it was a story for Hollywood! I really enjoyed going downtown and talking with the other fans and hearing how long they were fans, their experiences with family when going to games. It was truly a fun experience talking and cheering with the fans seeing the players go by. Then I had to go home and damn it was crazy you would think Rahm would have gotten his shit together and worked this out, the CTA Lines (trains) and platforms were too damn crowded. Union Station was crazy people were everywhere I tried to take the Metra home but I thought twice and took the cramped blue line, with again tons of Cubs fan.

It was a great experience even though it was chaotic and disorganized (i.e.: muddy fields of Grant Park) it was a real “high” and tons of fun it was great that people were able to come together and have a peaceful celebration. Of course, the downer was coming back to Oak Park, IL. What is the best way I can illustrate how the change of energy, the change of emotion from coming from the Cubbies World Series parade back to Oak Park, IL? Oh, it is like drinking, dancing with a bunch of great friends at a club/bar and then having some random stranger come up to you and punch you hard as they can in the gut and then they stand over you saying you deserve it. Yeah, it was a real buzzkill, to the rest of the Cub fans I hope to do this again NEXT year! YEAH!!!!! Wooooooooooooo

Crime on the Blue Line is a Headache for travel in Oak Park, IL especially with the World Series on the way!

Just as you thought it was alright to ride the blue line CTA trains again from Oak Park, IL to downtown Chicago, now another crime spree:

https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20161015/garfield-park/blue-line-train-thieves-beat-victims-before-robbing-them-police-say

I know first thing you will say is that “hey that’s Chicago not Oak Park, IL but considering that the Blue line runs through Oak Park, IL at least three times you should be worried about such a criminal element coming to Oak Park, IL. If they have access to the blue line it would be foolish to believe that they would stay upon that train within the Chicago metro area waiting to be caught. Although I am saying “they: and “them” we are dealing with criminals obviously that are very violent you will beat the shit out of you while robbing you.

The imaginary boundary that exists in Oak Park, Il will not protect it or its residents like this from crime spreading here nor will safeguard residents going into the city. We cannot just look the other way we have to be diligent when going into the city and around the areas near the blue line stops here in Oak Park, Il. I say that because criminals usually try to stay very close to their avenues of transport or escape so if they migrate to Oak Park, Il for a change of venue then all the delusional hippies might get knocked in the head for their money or some idiot kids walking while paying attention to their phones could get those items stolen easily.

When one thinks of this type of possibility you can easily get nervous or even overreact but again all that is needed is to be alert and realize that you are in the real world even though you are in Oak Park, IL. Don’t fool yourself and keep alert this may f up your drinking plans for the World series but it is better safe than sorry.
