The Oak Park village board trying to eliminate the Super-majority for the Albion development.

I love Oak Park, IL politics it makes me feel at home (Chicago) the shadiness, the backstabbing, the other handed deals, and the don’t-give-a-damn-about-the-voters-until-election-time attitude this Albion development is just right up the alley of my interests. Although I am loving this Simone Boutet, blondes are not my thing however the fact that she is a constant thorn in the village board’s side is exactly what Oak Park, IL needs to make sure there is transparency in government.

The idea to rewrite a zoning ordinance to overcome the 5-2 super majority needed to approve the Albion development is the type of underhanded crap the opposition to this plan and the voters never figured on this nor did they have the political literacy to understand the village board is unrelenting. The Mayor is now on defense, and acting defensively. “Duplicative language” my ass. As stated in the article the residents do not trust this village board however there should be more push back than one person on the board speaking up, and a couple of “family” rallies to oppose the Albion development.

The village board is at war with the residents only thing is that they are the only ones who realize it, the taxpayers are just in limbo about this situation. Changes as mentioned in the article must be transparent for the residents to know what the heck is going on in the village. The village board is playing to win, although they are getting frustrated with working this hard, the opposition is not organized to make that great of an impact.

Much like a water dripping on rock to make an impact or wear it down, if there is enough time the opposition can do this in regards to the Albion development however the village board is not willing to give the opposition time. The village board is making sure that time is on THEIR side, and being well organized, you can be sure they will try something like eliminating this supermajority again.

Here is the article discussing the rewrite, shady as hell:

Oak Park, IL -River Forest Election results shocker

Okay the people of Oak Park, Il have surprised even me! After the general election, I was shocked! You actually did good and voted out at least three incumbents that were supported by the development groups turning Oak Park, IL into little Chicago. These candidates Dan Moroney and Deno Andrews won by better margins than the Village Manager Association backed candidates. Hopefully with residents like these in positions of power maybe, and I do say, maybe the village board of Oak Park, Il will get focused on issues that really concerns the residents like traffic, parking, etc., not just fleecing the downtown area to local developers.

So, this is one of those various instances that I must say KUDOS! to Oak Park, IL. I truly hope there is an atmosphere of transparency and communication as a result of this, fingers crossed. But until they get all the idiots off the village board I am not sure there will be major changes in directions or focus made.

Oak Park, IL election 2017: Avoiding the Albion meeting

The funny thing is Oak Park, Il as clean as the residents act like it is, is dirty as Chicago, they think they are better, unfortunately, they are the same, maybe even worse. Now, the residents have an actual chance to change the issues behind redevelopments around Oak Park, Il and the constant selling out that is going on around the village. One such example is the 18-story development at the corner of Lake and Forest, in the article below lists more of the details, however, it seems the village trustees are so corrupt that lawyers are needed to tell these trustees not to talk to the developers connected to this development.

Therefore, these trustees do not show up to meetings for questions on the development, come face to face with voters, when they obviously are in discussion with the developers. This shows the level of corruption that this village has that the trustees do not want to discuss issues important to the residents but rather stay close to where the money is.

With an election coming up on April 4th it is a perfect opportunity for the people of Oak Park, IL to shed the skin of these sneaky snakes, however if the human behavior of Oak Park, Il is any indication this opportunity to rid Oak Park, IL of these money grubbing bastards with slip through the fingers like sand. Oak Park, IL can never seem to separate itself from its past in a good way, but they sure could sell it off.

Opposition to the Madison Avenue proposal in Oak Park, IL

Covered this before in my blog as well, the development in the area near Madison avenue in Oak Park, IL

Again the residents are not told about the construction of various properties around the village and the Dudley dumb dee Mayor of the village is trying to push another construction project ahead. Does he not live in this area, and the new construction will boost his property values.. nice. They are trying to build another grocery store in this area, like the Walgreens and Jewel down the street need competition, this is just another example of stupid construction and corrupt politics, whatever happened to “for the people by the people…”?

Obviously, the village government does not know how to ask the people of Oak Park, Il what they want and accept it, the village is becoming more and more like Chicago every day it is not funny. The people of Oak Park, Il really need one of those recall votes, or no confidence votes for this Mayor to get him out quickly, Oak park, Il will not be how the residents envision it anymore and I am surprised the State is allowing them to cause the type of traffic nightmare that you know will need to be fixed in 5 to 10 years with State and Federal dollars.

When all this Mayor (“No means YES!”) needs to do is listen to the people who elected him! Maybe all these groups that are opposing all these stupid projects individually that I have mentioned in this blog should come together and give the Mayor one big fight or Fuck You, either way combine efforts and get the Mayor out,

Here is the article talking about the opposition the Mayor faced regarding the proposed construction on Madison Avenue from the residents of Oak Park, Il who live in that area:

Eisenhower and possible tolls and the Mayor (of Oak Park, Il ) who does not listen

I was looking up traffic for the Christmas Holiday around Oak Park, Il to get a feel for how it is to drive on the Eisenhower, and I saw that they might add toll roads to it? It’s hard enough to get around the city as is, so some greedy ass lawmaker wants to make a profit off it? Geez, no wonder why people leave this area in droves!

Then I saw that the Mayor of Oak Park, IL wants to add ANOTHER round of vote regarding noise dampening walls as construction may begin in 2017. There is just enough bullshit I could deal with this guy if I owned a home here and thank God I do not because he and the rest of the officials in Oak Park, IL ask the people what they think about this wall project, about the pool project and when the residents say “NO!” these fucking idiots want to ask again!!!!

It is like these fools do not understand the meaning of “NO” like they are stalkers, rapists, or really bad insurance salesmen, no means no, so move on! Not in Oak Park, IL where they will push and push until they tax YOUR income until they get THEIR way and THEIR vision of what Oak Park, IL is.

When you think of the taxes involved and the amount of money you pay for the property here, you would think you would be treated better than a 5-year-old kid, some people like telling them what to do, what to believe and how they should pay taxes without PROPER representation of what they want. It’s good we are warming back up to Russia because Oak Park, Il is going to fit right in, the rest of us who say “NO!” to this type of shit, we’re Americans.

Here’s the link to the article talking about the Eisenhower changes, the proposed tolls and the non-American mayor of Oak park, IL who wants to do what he wants: http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/oak-park/news/ct-oak-interstate-290-tl-1222-20161215-story.html

Target comes to Oak Park, IL!

Celebrate!  I see the news regarding a small Target near Lake and Harlem! I love how the residents and sometimes officials state they want to preserve the “heritage” of Oak Park, IL with its “feel” and architecture and such. Well, putting a Target near one of the busiest intersections around the village and area is the greatest way to do that! Great going morons! Where did the city planners get their degrees? In a Cereal box???

The traffic in this area and this intersection is already a mess so let’s add a huge name brand store and not add enough parking spots in the area because that is the intelligent thing to do. I love the fact that Chicago corruption has hit Oak Park, Il in a major way because there is no way this seems reasonable to the average resident’s sensibilities those who profess the glory of Oak Park, Il’s individual uniqueness.

Now this area of Harlem and Lake has been set up to be as bad as or ten times worse than the area where Forest Park, Il has the Walmart on Roosevelt and Desplaines Avenues. No longer can Oak Park, Il state it is unique it has become like every other village or town that has poor planning and terrible grasps of its own traffic problems. There are tons of places and empty spaces for a Target on Madison avenue but that would be thinking and logical, alas Oak Park, IL in its vanity is not about that.

Once they see the crowds a Target brings (which is almost as bad as Walmart crowds) they will realize someone has sold Oak Park, Il’s already pitiful soul to the devil, but then it will be too late to make changes. Changes in the infrastructure, streets etc., and no I did not forget about all the small unique businesses around Harlem and Lake that a small Target will kill once introduced into the area.

Bravo! Thank you Oak Park, IL for proving me right and that you are the biggest combination of idiots and hypocrites of them all!

Here is the link spreading the joy of my continued on the point opinion about Oak Park, IL:

Tasty dog sign on the market

They are selling the old Tasty dog sign, eliminating basically the last piece of folksy, old fashioned Oak Park, IL eliminating more of its so called charm in the place for more mixed use condos! I think it is great because Lake Street will be SOOOOO busy in this area with the new Target coming in near Harlem and Lake that traffic will be worse than the I-90 during rush hour!

Adding to the craziness in the area and increasing the possibility for more accidents in this tightly contested traffic nightmare called downtown Oak Park, IL. I think later on in the village’s history we will look back upon this time as a rush to development without much thought of the consequences. The means are there but just because you can do something does not necessarily mean you should and that is the case here.

Like the Vote 200 referendum the village of Oak Park, Il cannot wait to start up another construction mess, and throw money into redeveloping the area in to a present day metropolis without thinking of the issues, the problems that brings when you simply concentrate all your efforts into one particular part of the area.

Look at all the issues Chicago has is trying to even out the wealth across the city and spread its resources, look at how congested areas like Wrigleyville and Lakeview (yah!) are in comparison to the rest of the city. The same issues face Oak Park, IL as the throw up mixed use condos all up and down Lake Street and unlike Chicago, it won’t take a number of years to see the negative fallout in this area of Oak Park, IL it will probably be immediate and with less style.
