Parking signs confusing? no really?

The idea that these parking signs would help is just crazy, the signs only complicates even further the confusing parking situation that is Oak Park, Il. The idea that you can put all the stupid ass information about the parking restrictions on a flat piece of metal canvas is ridiculous. Even the designer of the sign is quoted thinking that is too hopeful of a mission.

To see that other residents are having a ton of problems with these parking signs as well is fantastic I am no longer feeling alone or half as stupid as Oak Park, Il makes all of us feel. There is no shortage of miscommunication in Oak Park, Il and these signs just add on to the confusion. There are probably many stories of confusion when stupidity is prevalent and widespread as this I wonder if the people who make these decisions ever think these things through.

The village has a survey to allow you to communicate with the village about the effectiveness of these signs. Most of the questions (under seven) focus upon the ability of the readers who see these signs and how well is it communicating the consolidated messages of signs past into one. To me, the new signs are open to interpretation and when that is the case, nine times out of ten, you usually get a ticket for your troubles.

Can you imagine if you’re getting a ticket or not depends upon the interpretation of these crazy signs? If the cops are ticket happy in the first place how much of an increase in tickets issued will come as a result of this insanity? How many people receiving tickets for this approved insanity will change the course of the village of Oak Park, IL doing something that utterly makes no sense?

You can let your voice be heard it is a survey powered by survey monkey regarding the parking signs go here: oak-park.us/signsurvey

This is an interesting article about the parking signs:

Say no to Albion in Oak Park, IL

Totally awesome, finally Oak Park, Il residents have used their collective wits to stand against more bullshit development in the Oak Park, Il area. With the vote going 5-4 to say “NO” to the development of the Albion development is a major accomplishment. Because the money is what talks in Oak Park, IL with this vote obviously the “winds of change” are going another way. Protection of Parks in Oak Park, IL is very instrumental without the green areas
Oak Park loses its luster. However, this is only a “recommendation;” and the village board can still go ahead.
So why is that awesome? Because at least the voices of the residents of Oak Park, IL are being listened to by someone in the planning and development stages. Hopefully, the citizens sue the village board if they go ahead and point to this “recommendation” by the Oak Park Plan Commission to delay the selling of Oak Park, IL to special interests that the village board is okay doing.
If the residents that pay taxes are not okay with this development why is the village board going ahead with such stupidity? Because they are a smaller identical twin government of dysfunctional City of Chicago government that you see dominating the news on a daily basis with their stupidity.
If the residents were smart they would protest this crap on a bi-weekly basis forever and ask/get local media to cover it, the more “light” the residents can bring to this issue the less likely the cockroaches on the Village board will push through such crap. But that is only if the residents who are against this development have the balls to do so, this vote gives them the ammunition to totally stand against the village board.
Now it comes down to putting boots on the streets of Oak Park, IL or will the residents just sit on their asses at home complaining about it on social media, me? I have no dog in this fight I cannot care either way if the residents choose the latter then Oak Park, IL will be just the biggest hypocrites on God’s green earth.
This discusses the decision online:

Oak Park, Il blog related: Back to school

I am back in school for the time being taking about two classes or I have a full-time schedule for the next two terms, this way I can get done with school get the Masters degree in line with getting done with Oak Park, IL tons of writing means I will probably spend more time in front of the computer instead of outside whiffing in the smells of dog shit and pompous attitudes in the great outdoors.

I might use the extra money and or time to get myself ready for another move and update my furniture to things that are more functional and durable. This way it will not break down either inside just be used or during a move like my four-drawer dresser from Ikea. The movers just turned that thing from a thing of beauty to Frankenstein’s monster in less than a couple of hours. Mind you I waxed and shined that thing for a good 8 months and was very careful in using it.

Now one of the drawers’ outer face is scratched and another drawer is just smashed to pieces. That is why I am dipping into my drinking fund to get it right this time, ha-ha I guess I am “growing up” but I just want to make sure that I am not doubling my expenses just to make the apartment look cute in such a shitty suburb. With that in mind, i am going to max out on Bed Bath and Beyond coupons on the sturdy shit, instead of on candles.

I already took the advice of some of my buddies and looked into Ethan Allen (2k for a dresser!) but I am not that interested in that type of investment unless I am certain I am staying in the state. The amount of taxes that are going into effect especially very soon, like getting a house or a condo less of a sure thing than ever.

Therefore, keeping my head down and getting back into the swing of writing for school to finish that up and also to get back in practice of writing for the blog will be more of my focus …well, unless there is a two for one or free drinks option somewhere. Then I will happily fall off the wagon. Toodles.

Do not mess with the mail carriers in Oak Park, IL

There was an issue with the mail and I loved that the mail person just did not want to throw the mail anywhere but at least left a note. A note regarding the situation although what I did read (I was looking over her shoulder as I was coming in from my lunch break) was very hilarious then my otherworldly neighbor came down (not the offender) and I had to stop lingering otherwise I would have made it obvious.

The note was basically stating to have all the names on the mailbox, I guess that pisses off all the mail people working in Oak Park, Il not just the ones in my old neighborhood I believe that the mail workers believe that everyone in Oak park, Il is a bunch of privileged assholes. When that is totally not true however if that is all you have been exposed to and the majority of my experiences with people in Oak Park, il has been negative as well so it is easy to see why these postal workers have such as shitty attitude towards residents doing whatever in regards to their mailboxes and postal expectations.

These postal workers are probably treated like “the help” or indentured servants without a second thought and the only way they know how to react is by giving tons of hostility towards everyone they come in contact with. That is why I give them a wide berth to do their job and interact with them like I have manners.

Just a professional courtesy that as a customer ensures that my mail is delivered on time, properly and correctly. Oak Park, Il is shitty enough than to just be pissing off those who are merely doing their job, do not live here, and handle important documentation that is essential for my daily activities and/or existence in this shitty little burb, hopefully, other people in Oak Park start thinking the same way.

My new tape recorder/converter to mp3 is keeping me out of trouble in Oak park, IL

I am sitting here with my new tape recorder it translates the music to a mp3. It gives me something to focus on when coming back home to Oak Park, Il the traffic drives me nuts as is, and the neighbors that want to be my friend or get in my personal business to the point of giving “advice” to me but I really don’t care. So, with this thing, since I am not in school I am either enjoy summer activities, being at work or Some shit.

Therefore, now I got this as a project I have a “go to” to get out of tons of dumb shit. Old lady lectures, dumb social engagements or just plain ass wasting time like a dumbass. The chaos of the village can really depress the shit out of you to the point you are in a rut and you cannot do anything or accomplish crap.

This place is simply demoralizing lol Luckily there are other things to do in the area but Since I rather not spend my rent money on keeping myself entertained I got this thing to transfer old mix tapes to mp3s, old lectures from School to tapes that were made by family and friends.

I rather keep busy and out of trouble instead of being on the mean streets of Oak Park Il navigating too small for traffic streets and riding slowly behind little old ladies who cannot travel the speed limit if their lives depended on it. Seriously. This new project is an overwhelming or going to overtake what I can do for the blog.

Also on a side note, I already have a bunch of Halloween themed posts ready for the month of October ready. Scheduled and ready to post I am also working on wallpapers for that holiday for the blog and my FB account. I get tired of the same old shit that is supposed to be for kids only here in Oak Park, Il

Hence I am thinking about maybe going or having a party during the Halloween week/weekend. I am not really sure because I am taking a full schedule to get done with school. I start the fall 2017 term in two days so I want everything to go smoothly. Hopefully, without my new old ass neighbor being busy, I can get this all done without a lot of interruptions but alas that is Oak Park, Il full of shenanigans ready to screw your world up.

Oak Park, Il related: Reviews on Google and Yelp

I have been updating the Google account for Oak Park, Il blog, specifically, google maps because you can review businesses and restaurants just like Yelp.com. Since I am already on yelp I am copying and pasting the reviews from Yelp to Google. This way I am consistent across the board with what I am saying about my experiences in Oak Park, Il and elsewhere. I am no nonsense with the reviews so I hope you enjoy them.

I am trying to keep all the accounts from Google/Blogger/Maps to WordPress to Yelp all on the same wavelength not being a major corporation it is very hard to keep all these social media sites plus Facebook together and on the same point. It is fairly simple once you get in a groove and keep all the outside noise out.

These are a basic simple guideline list on how I am doing the review thingee I am talking about:

  • log into both yelp and google
  • open up your account on yelp to reviews
  • open up google maps
  • copy the information from yelp (business name, address)
  • put it in google maps search
  • click onto the right business information on google
  • scroll down to write a review click it
  • just copy and paste the review from yelp to google

Sorry, it has some holes not my thing to create lists like this!

Took the rest of the week off because…

I took the week off because after the whole Charlottesville incident, well like I said sometime before when Oak Park got the Nazi graffiti in the lobby of one of its public buildings, I can’t remember which. But I said that Oak Park Il was in a bubble of disbelief towards such racism and after the events in Charlottesville I guess I was right. The events twirled out of control, political blunders were aplenty and it looks like tiki torches are now in fashion. Did anyone wonder why these protestors didn’t think that by going unmasked to these “rallies” there would not be any blowback or repercussions?

Probably thought they were okay living out their 4chan fantasies and it’s 1951 all over again. But because you want to be an asshole and go online to state your racist opinion does not mean you get to do what you want in the real world. All these organizations worked in the shadows because there was no internet, but then after the net, they found a space. Then was 9/11, Isis, and lone wolf terrorism that makes it impossible for this type of “free” speech to exist in open society. There is a fear of what happened in Charlottesville, Paris, etc. will happen everywhere so all those involved with these “rallies” will be labeled as fanatics or fascists for the rest of their lives.

And the United States is no longer a Domestic economy meaning being involved with other ethnic groups is now a fact of life that cannot be avoided. Meaning this involvement is Permanently listed or associated with them hindering any chance of having a meaningful job search or life. But that is the consequence of This type of hatred, you cannot apply the rules of trolling in real life. As much as I loathe Oak Park, Il I am not pushing down old ladies downstairs, sideswiping ignorant bike riders, or stealing the iPads of the idiotic kids aimlessly walking into traffic.

I know how to vent properly and interact in society, oh and I am not a racist fascist (that helps). Therefore, in respect of the two cops and the protestor that died I took the week off out of respect and so that everyone can focus on the hatred that I already knew was out there. But as usual in Oak Park, Il decided to ignore, you can still try but you never know when crazies may attack.

The Bike riders in Oak Park, IL

Can’t stand the bike riders out here, just inconsiderate. Funny how there are bike lanes yet I had to drive behind two riders who were in the middle of the street for more than three blocks. Like in the middle riding through only two-way stop signs at a four-way intersection like they really owned the whole road and by breaking the rules of the road they were getting to their destination faster than anyone else. It was like they were trying to race me and everyone in a car, SUV or minivan.

The fun part was when they finally had to yield at an intersection or get hit. They got upset at this po dunk in an old ass pickup truck and the male bike rider said some shit to get the pickup driver to keep inching forward on them and start him to get out of the truck. Maybe his female companion saw deliverance and decided to talk her buddy from making a big mistake with tumbling with the pickup truck dude or maybe she didn’t want to explain how they were the ones not obeying the rules of the road to the cops.

Either way , hey begrudgingly started back to peddling as I passed them by on my way back from lunch (I was late, but I snuck in), I gave the car a little gas so it could startle them as I passed them up for once in eight blocks. I flashed them a smile and a middle finger for their troubles, like anyone on the road from soccer moms and their minivans to jerk bicycle riders. If you are rude expect for someone to be rude back.

Modern Construction will eliminate “Vintage” wiring in Oak Park, IL

I cannot believe that the local government agencies allow apartment buildings in the Oak Park area to have such crappy electrical set ups for their buildings. I mean there are outlets from the 1950s or maybe 1930s it’s just ancient compared to today’s standards or the new construction that is occurring in downtown Oak Park. It is so scatterbrained, it is like the village is waiting for a major fire to happen before having on a set of standards.

Of course, these vintage set ups are still allowed because renters buy into the illusion that Oak Park’s culture and acceptance into the area’s community is just to “roll with” it. However, this illusion is now being challenged by the new buildings being built in the area, it shows that the new residents are not accepting these old-fashioned standards. In fact, today’s technology of temperature controls, surge protector outlets, and low wattage lights are all pieces of the environmentally friendly message that Oak Park, Il espouses to masses.

But again, the massive contradiction that is Oak Park, Il there is this environmental holier than thou message or fantasy that is pushed by those disillusional hippies here only to be dashed by the reality of the two prolog outlets that pop up in the various dwellings here in Oak Park, Il. The two standards cannot exist side by side, and the more younger renters that come into the village the louder, the more the voices that will request, that will demand newer standards.

The demand for new technology for dwellings to become environ mentally friendly will become prevalent. Change is inevitable for Oak Park, Il and I for one cannot wait to see it happen. The more people who speak up for modern technology the more likely we will be seeing the end of “vintage” wiring in Oak Park, Il.

Oak Park, IL blog: The “Master key murder” episode supports what I have said before

I was recently watching the ID channel series called the “Nightmare Next Door”, and there was this one episode called “master key murder” that illustrated one of the issues I had with Oak Park apartments. In a previous blog post, I mentioned I had a master key that opened every door in my apartment building, and how after I found out I received nothing but resistance in trying to change the locks too (at least) my apartment.

Well, this episode from the series “Nightmare Next Door”, a promising young woman is hacked into pieces by her crazy stalking neighbor who… Had a master key to the entire apartment building. At one point, not on did he steal condoms from his neighbors but also had a pair of used (had DNA on it) panties from the victim.

Of course, this was only found out with police searched his apartment but it proves my point that sick ass individuals are out there doing the exact same crazy shit I was worried about. The same stuff that Oak Park Apartments representatives thought I was being silly about or just being dramatic about. Those dumb bitches have no clue about how serious an issue, of having a “floating” master key is.

This crime on illustrates why property management companies, should be extremely careful with individual apartment keys, master key, and all their copies. Plus, anyone who rents should watch this episode or research this tragic case to get a heads up. When I moved to my new place I made sure I got new locks on the main door and had extra locking systems put into place so I can be safe from all the freakin creeps out there. The ones Oak Park Apartments think do not exist.
